Fan-To-Fan Face Value Ticket Exchange

All tickets outside NY and CO are non-transferable, so you can't resell them on StubHub or even send them over to your friends (because from TM's perspective there's no way to tell the difference). NY and CO tickets, due to applicable state laws, are freely transferable so TM is not allowed to stop you from selling them on StubHub. For the non-transferable shows, they are setting up a "Fan To Fan Ticket Exchange" to allow people whose plans change or otherwise don't want their tickets anymore to resell them for face value only. As far as we know, such an exchange would operate a lot like StubHub, with the only real difference being that you have to list the tickets at face instead of making your own price. The point is that there would not be new inventory being sold by the venue or Ticketmaster on the exchange; the only tickets available to buy will be the ones that other ticketholders want to sell.
There seem to be a number of people here who were counting on such an exchange to provide access to face value tickets for NYC and Denver, and who are disappointed by a rumor from Reddit that the exchanges won't be set up for those shows. The key thing to understand, though, is that it doesn't matter whether or not the exchanges exist for NYC and Denver because nobody would have any reason to list their tickets on them when they could just use StubHub, which will allow them to sell for any price they want. Apparently some people are hopeful that there will be good samaritans out there who will wish to resell extra tickets for face value rather than at StubHub markups. If any of those people do exist, they are free to list their tickets for face value on StubHub just like they would on the Fan To Fan Exchange. Or they could head over to the Given To Fly forum and try to connect with another fan club member if they want to make sure that their tickets end up in a fan's hands and not a reseller (which, I might add, is an option they do not have for other shows).
The bottom line is that the Fan To Fan Exchange is not going to help you if you're looking for tickets for MSG or Baltimore, and that's not a result of TM refusing to set it up, it's a byproduct of arguably misguided state laws about selling non-transferable tickets. The good news is that you can still keep your eye on the boards here and try to find someone who ends up with extras. It probably won't happen in the short term, as right now the G2F forum is just a list of 0 reply threads titled "ISO two for MSG", but as the shows get closer keep checking in there and see if anything pops up.0 -
I'm faithful. I'm hoping to score an MSG ticket through fan to fan.

It's against 10C policy, but no, other than that, there's nothing to stop a 10C member from charging someone 3x face value for tickets to MSG.

I think NYers would desperately take an option of triple face value.
So there's hope once 10c tix are delivered seats under $900 for 100 or 200 level seats will appear.
Not that I'd spend 900$ but that's the cutoff for seats not touching the famous ceiling.0 -

I have no idea whether or to what extent the club or Ticketmaster has the practical ability to tie secondary market sales to Ten Club accounts. But even if they could theoretically do it, I don't think they will.Camden 2 2006, Newark 2010, Barclays 2 2013, Central Park 2015, MSG 2 2016, Wrigley 1 2016, Rome 2018, Prague 2018, Asbury Park 2021, EV & Earthlings NYC 1 2022, MSG 2022, Louisville 2022, Dublin 2024, MSG 1 2024, MSG 2 20240 -
It's risky either way. The stranger on StubHub could be someone who just wants to report you (weren't there people in years past who used to do that?) And 10C says not only can they revoke your membership, they'll also cancel your ticket purchase. So somebody that doesn't care about losing their membership but wants to make a couple grand on their tickets, may lose out on both.0
