Who's going?

Our Plans:
Thurs Staying at Novatel City Center in Byward Market  for some fun.
Fri Staying at Glo Best Western Kanata for proximity to the show.
Taking the 10am Via Rail Train to Quebec City on Saturday morning for the next show.

----

WHERE TO STAY:
Byward Market is bar/entertainment district downtown - Downtown is best for fun if staying a bit.
Kanata is area around stadium - There's very little close to the arena though.
Rides from Stadium to Downtown can be challenging/pricey after shows.

--

TRAIN TO THE NEXT SHOW IN QUEBEC CITY:
Two Via Rail trains to QC the next day. Roughly 10:15am and 2pm.
Fare is $70 for coach or $100 for Business Class. Business class gets you Priority Boarding, a better/roomier seat, 3 course meal, and FREE Beer/Wine/Cocktails.

---

GETTING BACK TO THE HOTEL AFTER THE SHOW:
"For public transit, OC Transpo typically offers a special 400 series bus that runs throughout the city. It picks you up outside the CTC and runs to/from Downtown. Not sure how this will work with the LRT (read: semi-functional train) system, but it's something at least. $3.60 and no waiting."

Uber/Lyft/Cabs available post show but expect inflated rates/surge pricing. Traffic Jam getting into/out of venue makes for ~$50 cab ride to downtown. Surge pricing could make Uber/Lyft double that.

Still awaiting details on Cab Access (if there is a cab stand or you must call your own).

--

OFFICIAL WISHLIST PARTY LINKS:

Friday, March 20: Ottawa, ON - Canadian Tire Centre
Location: Bert's Bar 1000 Palladium Drive, Ottawa ON K2V 1A5 (613) 599-2582
Beneficiaries: Capital City Condors & Vitalogy Foundation Spotlight Charities
Organizer(s): Chris B, Cathy P
Socials: Website | FB Event | FB Group
Some other prelim details

--

WHAT'S GOOD "NEAR" THE ARENA:
Overflow Brewing: is having a large Pre-party south of the city. Great PJ cover band & Bus to venue.

Crazy Horse Bar - Good reviews and near Shopping
Everygreen Ales Tap Room - 20 min walk to arena (@keeponrockin works here and is looking into pre-show specials)
Les 3 Brasseurs - Tap Room - Near Crazy Horse
Stanleys @ Bell Sensplex - (5 min walk from arena) - Bar upstairs w/ couple local crafts on tap
Berts - Attached to Arena - Pricey but Good Food/Service.

I'm in for Ottawa as well, it'll be the first show for our kids, so pretty exciting. Driving up from central NY on Thursday night, staying in Byward 2 nights. Hoping to do some exploring Friday before the show since none of us have been to Ottawa before.

Stay at the holiday inn on Kanata Ave, it’s a 10 min ride to venue but close to shopping, Crazy Horse bar.. etc..

closet to venue is Fairfield inn by Marriott it’s a 5-10 min walk to venue. Close to nothing except the venue.

    want fancy?

stay at the Brookstreet 10 min drive to the venue. Not close to anything, it’s in the middle of the corporate tech sector

downtown: close to everything except the venue. 20-30 min drive to venue

Check out in Kanata... no there's not much if any in walking distance but there are spots that are ~2-4km from the venue so Uber/Lyft shouldn't be too bad.

Im driving from Buffalo.  Staying with friends.  We should have a good group of 10 of us going

    I am 318xxx and won Best-Available.

This is the only show I put in for/planning on attending (Hamilton is on my son's birthday and not feeling a Wednesday drive to Toronto).

I'm in! Staying at the Fairfield Inn. How's the public transit after an event?

In. Staying in the Byward area. don't care about close to venue. That's what an uber is for (unless you are only staying one night, then I get it). We're there Thursday to Monday, so we're taking in the sights.
    Darwinspeed, all.

    Cheers,

    HFD

  • Was my first pick Best Available!  I am in staying at the Fairfield Marriott.  Booked that sucker the hour the tour was announced.  Close to the Canadian Tire Centre. Going to all 4 Canadian shows thank you Ten Club!

    See you all there! 🇨🇦🤟❤️
  • In!

As for places to stay, there's very little that within walking distance. Should be easily doable in a Lyft or Uber (though good luck getting out afterward...).

For public transit, OC Transpo typically offers a special 400 series bus that runs throughout the city. It picks you up outside the CTC. Not sure how this will work with the LRT (read: semi-functional train) system, but it's something at least.

If you aren't going to the Toronto show, Oilers - Sens game on the wednesday.   Catch the Connor McDavid show.

I'll be there. Staying at my house because I live in Ottawa.  Looking forward to it. Chose reserved seating since it can still be cold in March and I hate figuring out what I should do with my jacket in general admission. Last time they came to Ottawa I was on the side Row c. The time before that they were still doing floor seats and the front row lottery and I got front row.

Damn, would’ve liked to go to that game. Haven’t been able to see him since he was here in Erie. Maybe a PJ/Oilers vacation in Edmonton this fall? One can dream, right?
