Again, I'm going to guess that you have had little to zero range time, handling a firearm.

    Correct?
Bow to the gun expert everyone...if only we all went to "the range" we would have a much different understanding

Correct. Since you apparently have, how many rounds do you need? And at least 10 states say I don’t need any range time to own a firearm. Fancy that. So if I change my mind and decide I can’t possibly continue to exist without a firearm, I can get a gun and have a 30 round clip because the first 29 shots won’t count. Correct?

I know I'm jumping in the middle of this discussion. But do you mean how many rounds do you need total, or how many do you need in a magazine?
I don't agree with the ammo restrictions in California. You can easily go through a few hundreds rounds in an hour. a 10-round magazine can take only 1-2 minutes even when you take time with each shot. going through a box of 50 really doesnt last long. And a bigger problem is people are getting priced out of buying ammo in places like California. They have limits and background checks every single time that are pointless. Literally only designed to prevent you from buying ammo rather than real gun control. So a young adult purchasing his or her first firearm may have a difficult time affording ammo that would make him be able to practice.

He actually might, because I was similar. I had no time for guns. Thought they were dangerous toys for hillbillies and whatnot. Then, when I got a job that required I be firearm-trained, I reluctantly accepted that I had to learn to use a gun. And I have to say, I'm happy I'm proficient in firearms now. Going to the range can be fun, and in the event of something terrible happening (home invasion, etc.), I'll be prepared.

Thanks for answering.  It helps me understand more of where you are coming from now.

If I have a handgun it can't hold 29 rounds, law enforcement or class 3 only.  There is one handgun I know of that holds 20 but I've yet to see anyone with it.

I'm not sure how many rounds I'd need, the situation(s) haven't happened.  Not the answer you are looking for I know.

yes...but to define it, my friend had a hunting cabin and we would go there to drink, campfire, set up targets, etc.  We did use gun stations so we weren't carrying weapons around.

One night ended with my friend shooting clay targets at the cabin because he didn't want the party to end.  Good times.

Is jeebus descending from the heavens or does walking around with a rifle slung over your chest like you’re going to kick someone’s door in do that to you?
