I think we should go back to horse and buggy but without the horse ( just a buggy like the one The Flintstones used to drive where you pick it up and run with it and set it down and go that's the way to go MFC new green deal yes) because horses shit and fart that puts gases in the atmosphere and that's bad.

The seasons have been getting so confused where I am the last couple of years, snow at weird times of year, extremely mild weather at Christmas.

So leftist indoctrination begins in kindergarten. So Time Magazine and others are going to use children as props to advance their agenda?
    Is totally totally sick.
I only read Time Magazine twice a year when I'm in the waiting room at my dentist office. It's getting pretty darn thin.  They airbrush photos of people they like, while painting people they don't like as monsters.  Have a look at these few magazine covers this amazing.

Formal education generally begins in kindergarten, because that is, after all, the point of school. It's interesting what even children can learn when provided with the facts.

Your mind is unbelievably warped to believe this is actually a thing. For example, THE CURRENT COVER portrays your boy in a pretty glowing light.

What a hot take you got there. But what is "leftist indoctrination" in this case? What is this agenda they are pushing with Greta?

Do you have something against Greta? Tell me why, and lets hope it doesn't echo the reasons swedish far-right racists give.

I don't have a problem with Greta. I have a problem with the left using children as props to invoke emotion, emotion is what drives the left's agenda.

Hate to break it to you dude...both sides do a great job of indoctrinating...otherwise people would not dig in their heels in so much arguing politics.  Put it this way...Jesus could run as a Dem and you’d vote republican...and John Lennon could run republican and dems would still vote dem.

As for the environment...the world knows what needs to done...we do not need more speeches...if the entire world will not commit to clean up the environment...then it’s a lost cause.  At this point I’m here for the ride and plan on enjoying it...the environment is fucked and past the point of no return...

RYME, it's not like Greta Thunberg is not a 5 year old with a penchant for parroting what some adult told her.  She's a very intelligent young lady who is driven by circumstances to speak her mind -her own mind- about a serious issue that threatens to make life miserable for people her age in coming years.  Have you listened to her speak?  At least a couple of her talks have been posted here.  you might want to check them out if you haven't.

And, seriously, since when did global warming become a "leftist" issue?  Is it because somehow, miraculously, those on the right will not be affected by these changes that are in motion already?  I'd like to know how that works!

Then why does the left always make it a left issue...and some on the left slobber over their leftist politicians who bullshit them and continue to support most left politicians...look at Canada, a week ago ours fucked up government declared a climate emergency, then on Tuesday the same fucked up government approved a pipeline to the coast...real climate emergency...it's getting to be bullshit...

Intelligent people know science is not a left or right issue.  Who listens to politicians about climate issues?  That's like taking advice from a postal clerk about how to perform open heart surgery.

I read what scientists say about global warming.  If a particular politician does as well and works to reverse anthropogenic global warming, fine, but it's not a left or right issue to me.  I think it's probably more the right who say it's a left issue.

Its a left issue because the right are to disgusting to deal with or even acknowledge it.

All enivormental organizations are not ob the left side because it is a left issue - But because the right is on the wrong side of history like pretty much always through history.

    Come on now.

The water is high where I live.  I do not worry, people have pulled out pics from the 70's and 80's of higher water.

So whats the worlds plan for the continued gross overpopulation of planet earth? Wait till there is another 2 billion, then 3 billion more people...most in poor countries who will use the cheapest energy and fuel possible.
Experts now predict that the world's population will peak around 2050 at 9 billion, and then it will start to shrink forever until we're all gone.

But FWIW, phone/video conferencing is great and all, but it only takes people so far. Face-to-face is what's ultimately still most effective in getting important shit hammered out. Don't underestimate the power of personal connection.

There are other ways to give the speeches without physically being there...perhaps these environmental lobbies should try that...

Or maybe before we keep have these so-called necessary meetings...they should have to at least prove they are meeting the Paris Targets...which most will never meet...
Greta and others doing speeches > Meltdown doing, what I guess is, nothing
Damn right.  As I type this I got my hummer running, for no reason other than I might need a coffee and I want the air running. It's a comfortable 73, outside, I got the air running full speed ahead, I cut six trees down for no other reason than to have a campfire, I let helium-filled balloons fly every night...basically, I am a realist, planet earth is past the point of no return...and so what...the human race needs to go extinct...
It's the animals I'm concerned about. I agree we're past the point of no return for people, and there is no way in hell we're going to be able to change fast enough maintain things for ourselves, but we can still work our asses off to try and minimize the damage going forward in order to prevent yet more plant and animal species from being killed off than the huge number that already will be. Even if we make too much of the Earth inhabitable for ourselves, we still want to do our best not to leave the planet a grey, smoking disaster before we're gone. Also, humans aren't going extinct any time soon because of climate change - barring total nuclear annihilation or a massive asteroid impact we've still got a long ways to go. So in the meantime, probably better to do our best to keep shit as bearable as possible.

My favorite part of the whole thing is how we have data to study that is what, like 150 years in duration? We have no idea what we’re talking about, and the earth may have gone through more radical changes a million times before yet we’re so smart that we need to cower and assume it’s all over and that we’re horrible people.

if there’s one thing I know, it’s that mankind is dumb.  We think we can alter the environment to enable us to live longer.  We think we can change something that’s unchangeble so we can beat it.  Some things we’ll
    never conquer.

I’m not a denier of climate change, I just don’t see it as anything other than inevitable.  We can’t live forever.  Stop trying to.

They do? How? I thought mankind was only around like 200,000 years.  They were keeping data millions of years ago? Mind blown!

its more like they have no fucking clue what happened or what is going to happen yet just as mankind does, it wants to pretend it knows something it doesn’t.

They do? How? I thought mankind was only around like 200,000 years.  They were keeping data millions of years ago? Mind blown!

its more like they have no fucking clue what happened or what is going to happen yet just as mankind does, it wants to pretend it knows something it doesn’t.
    You've never heard of paleoclimatologists?
Are they 2 million year old scientists?
    Alrighty.
Did you hear? Sea activated the ignore function!!

Guy who runs a restaurant disregards something 90%+ of the world's scientists are telling you to be very concerned about.

I got enough shit to worry about in my daily life than to be worrying about something that may or may not be an issue.  Did we all think we’d last forever?  Why is it a surprise that 8 billion people might fuck this place up?

All I'm saying is if I want advice on reverse searing a ribeye, I would value your opinion.

When it comes to something like, you know the future of mankind? Yeah, I'm gonna leave it up to the experts.

If you want to ignore massive swathes of evidence because it doesn't allow your life to continue to exist selfishly without guilt, that's your prerogative (on the topic of pretending to possess knowledge). Scientific pursuit is largely focused on things our eyes and ears can't directly teach us. For everything else - we have our eyes and ears.

Would you like to dispute science such as gravity? It's a 100% causal relationship, but not certain. How about the model of an atom? Ask those near Chernobyl and they might believe in the atomic model, but then again, that explosion (and subsequent decades of birth defects and elevated cancer rates) could've been caused by anything.

Ultimately, this doesn't matter, and your impacts (like any one individual) are destined to be statistically insignificant one way or another, but your premises above make no sense and you should at least be honest about just wanting to be justified in living a life with zero compromise or regard for your home.

Dude, you are so out of your league on climate science it's laughable.  Maybe spend some time studying the conversations posted on NOAA or www.realclimate.org ,  posts written by professionals who are dedicated climate scientist- you know, people who really know what the fuck they are talking about.
