Oh and btw, he spent the last three weeks meeting with unions across the midwest.  I missed the progressive posts extolling that behavior.  I'm sure they will come any minute.  It will happen as soon as Bernie is done counting his millions.
    I assume you're a Biden supporter?
He should have met with union leaders or something good like that on the first day of his campaign then, not with corporate fat cats that can pay him off through donations. The fundraiser today was held at the home of the CEO of Comcast no less. Like HFD said, they shouldn't even be allowed to accept donations from corporations (or unions) at all.
I don't understand this comment about Bernie. You have a problem with his fairly modest worth of $2.5M? That would buy an average family home where I live, lol. FWIW, I think the criticism of Bernie having some money is fucking idiotic. All it does is show the critics' ignorance about what he actually stands for.
The criticism is akin and as ridiculous as Biden going to a comcast executive house.   That's my point.  FWIW, Bidens net worth is reported at 700k. Pretty modest.

Also,  fyi, he has joined other candidates refusing donations from K street and unions.
Those two criticisms aren't even in the same ballpark, let alone akin to one another. One of them is related to the very real problem of corporate political funding pandering to lobbyists, and the other makes no sense.
I don't care what Biden or Bernie's net worth is.
Did you miss the part where he's not accepting corporate donations?

Im glad you don't care what their net worths are.  Do you care about the net worth of Jamie Dimon? Jeff Bezos?
Yes I do, because their net worth symbolizes why capitalism is failing miserably. Why do you ask?

So what's the cutoff? How much have you decided is enough for a person?

Btw, I give as much of a shit about Biden,  Bernie,  Booker or Klobuchar meeting with a state lobbyist as you do about Sanders being a millionaire.  Beat Trump.  That's it.  And while you're at it,  don't break up Amazon and Google.
Billions is too much for a person, particularly when the people who work for them and their holdings are struggling to get by. Anyone who is okay with the kind of economy that allows Bezos to be worth that much while workers don't get paid enough is ..... I won't say it, lol. But it IS how capitalism will fail almost all people. I wish people would start demanding better. Comparing this concept to someone being worth a mere $2.5M in their 70s is absolutely ludicrous. I'm surprised you even brought it up.

I don't want Amazon or Google to be broken up necessarily... but if that's what it takes to fucking change what's going on now with the complete lack of distribution of wealth back to the consumers that create it and provide it in the first place, then go for it (I don't know if that would be the result though).

Of course I agree beating Trump is very very important. Obviously..... I also believe these other issues are important. Even more so, in the long run. I also take issue with what people seem to think can and can't beat Trump.

as someone else stated previously, the right person for VP is the right person for POTUS to get elected. nothing more.
Correct. To me that person is Beto.
Beto reminds me of another Dan Quayle; goofy guy that doesn't bring anything to the ticket. Probably the least qualified of anyone else that could be picked as VP.  He tried to rise to the top based on some schmarmy gimmicks, but ultimately fell flat as a politically intelligent choice. Bury him and Sanders in the same pit and move on.
    It's a hopeless situation...

I don't understand the "gimmick" theory with Beto. He has a political stance that is easy to see. I think those "gimmicks" are just his personality. We do actually want people to have one of those.

I care if someone hoards massive amounts of money instead of paying their workers adequately, ensuring that most people can't maintain a lifestyle comparable to how hard or how much they work. Workers are disgustingly undervalued, and that has to be fixed. Otherwise the vast majority of people will sink deeper and deeper towards poverty and crippling debt.
I also agree that corporations should pay far, far more in taxes, after they've paid all their workers fairly.

I agree with your problem statement but not with the solution.  Tax them at 70% marginal like the 50s and 60s, provide better social services to those in need.  Raise the minimum wage.  After that,  let the market dictate value and don't cap anyone's potential,  financial or otherwise.

Day 1 of the Biden campaign not good imo. Didn’t like any of it. Should of done a campaign rally/speech to announce. I have no idea what kind of impact age is going to have, personally I don’t care if your mind is sharp, but he looks old. I feel Trump looks young compared to him.
We need a new generation of American leadership. IDK. I think the primary is gonna be harder than the general for him.

These candidates are about to go to war with each other ... why assume a candidate who lost he nomination would accept a VP pick and vise versa?  My assumption is that the VP pick will not be in this field.

    Why?
I'm all for the P or VP being the right person, regardless of gender...but why would a male P need to choose a female running mate?

The point is that there is no way in hell that they can't find "the right person" in a woman, considering how underrepresented women are by government (and considering that a woman has never held either of the two spots in the history of the nation), combined with the number of amazing women there are to choose from. There is no way in hell that a male running mate would be best over a great woman. Well, the right person for POTUS is a woman too, but America is still too sexist for that probably.
Bullshit... America is too sexist for a woman Potus? Typical horseshit broad stereotyping of Americans on the AMT...

You forgot a woman just got 3 million more votes than her opponent in a national election?

Guess what, we aslo voted for a black man, twice!
HA!! Yeah, against a guy who said grab her by the pussy???? That does say a LOT about how people feel about voting for a female POTUS: that they aren't willing to. I think it is the height of naivety to think that Trump winning didn't have something to do with sexism. To me that is crazy talk. Pure denial. YES, America is too sexist to elect a female, and the polls compared to the quality of the dem candidates right now help prove it.
interesting point of view. especially given the population is slight majority women.

In his book “The Black Presidency” Michael Eric Dyson reports a conversation in 1966 where Rev. King told his advisors that “[t]here must be a better distribution of wealth, and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism.”

    /.../

Enter Bernie Sanders, a Democratic Socialist. Bernie is undeniably the leader on national health care reform. The California Nurses Association and National Nurses United went to the mat for him in 2016 because of his position on health care reform. Every other candidate today is sailing in his wind and mimicking his commitment.

    /.../

Bernie’s arrest during a 1963 civil rights protest of segregation in Chicago schools when he was a student at the University of Chicago resonates deeply with my personal history. At the University of Chicago, Bernie was a leader of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), a major civil rights group and led protests over racial inequality.

As a Senator, Bernie voted against the Iraq War in 2002 and warned of “unintended consequences.”

    /.../

We need more than simply “any functioning adult” to help us get out of the mess we are in. I believe that loyalty to the legacy of Rev. King requires all out support to elect Bernie Sanders in 2020.

At the University of Chicago, Bernie was a leader of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), a major civil rights group and led protests over racial inequality.

As a Senator, Bernie voted against the Iraq War in 2002 and warned of “unintended consequences.”

We need more than simply “any functioning adult” to help us get out of the mess we are in. I believe that loyalty to the legacy of Rev. King requires all out support to elect Bernie Sanders in 2020.

Tough day for him on this.  He's been criticized for not being in tune with the community.

In his book “The Black Presidency” Michael Eric Dyson reports a conversation in 1966 where Rev. King told his advisors that “[t]here must be a better distribution of wealth, and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism.”

YES, America is too sexist to elect a female, and the polls compared to the quality of the dem candidates right now help prove it.
interesting point of view. especially given the population is slight majority women.
yes i'm sure some sexism plays a part but i am still completely baffled by women who voted for  Trump. I know many education and intelligent women who admit to voting for the guy.  I honestly can't fathom how any woman could have voted for the guy over Hillary.

and to be honest in this election cycle I'm not necessarily interested in voting for the best Dem candidate. I'm interested in voting for the DEM candidate who has the best chance to beat Trump.  I almost don't care about their policies this cycle. It's  ONLY about getting this guy out of office ASAP.  I'll deal with any policy consequences after the fact.
