Oh you proved your intelligence alright. You say here that man's activity is one of the variables that contribute to climate change, and that changing man's behavior might be beneficial, but you also just assume that it may not be significant. Well how do you know? I'm going to side with the scientists that say it is significant over you.BS44325 said:
I believe I have proven my intelligence...but please...go on...keep talking down to his voters and then wonder why you disgust them.Ledbetterman10 said:

And I'm not talking down on Trump voters. I just posted a picture of folks like yourself that go along with everything Trump says. Didn't say a single bad thing about them. So why would you assume I'm talking down on Trump voters?

Same here and that's why I was a little peeved when he suggested I was "talking down on Trump voters" by posting that picture of people at his rallies. I was just saying that some people will believe ANYTHING Trump says, and that's true. But I'm in total agreement with you, and him, that this notion of painting all Trump voters with a broad brush (as uneducated, deplorable, racists) is the wrong way to go about things. Some people on this board, who though I agree with their points, are so pompous about it that I almost like seeing Trump in office because it upsets them. Almost....my2hands said:I like BS, and agree with some of what he says...

BS gets it more than most of us. And he's not going to be surprised in 2024 when Donald, Jr. wins all 50 states.
That said, I'm not buying that wind "joke." Donald Trump is the most humorless man on earth. He's an idiot and I actually would have thought BS would have simply acknowledged that the statement was idiotic; it's just the kind of thing we have to put up with to MAGA.
As for his base; his base is ANGRY...I just sometimes think they don't really know what they are angry about. This is one example I've seen of someone so full of anger...but over what? That a black man was president? AOC? That half of the country has not embraced Trump? There's so much anger. And I just don't get it. But it's their country now.

Exactly. I just wish folks like BS would admit when Trump is being ridiculous, while still being loyal to Trump. There's nothing wrong with that. A guy I work with is a big Trump supporter, has a Trump bumper-sticker on his truck, and thinks most of what Trump says is ridiculous. And that's where the line between Trump supporter and Trump fan is drawn. Supporters accept the faults, but stay loyal nevertheless. Fans refuse to acknowledge the faults because they're so blind in their fandom. It's similar to the difference between liking Michael Jackson's music even though he's a child molester, and refusing to accept that he's a child molester because you're so blinded by your fandom.OnWis97 said:BS gets it more than most of us. I am not assuming that it may not be significant. I am telling you that science has not proven it's level of significance. It may in fact be extremely significant. Climate is a multi-variable phenomenon and current science cannot control for all these variables when studying the effect of man. there is a very vocal minority that paints trump supporters with that brush. it's a few. stop acting as if every liberal-leaning person here keeps insulting trump supporters. we simply do not. are they all deplorable? no, but many are. and by deplorable I mean their moral compass is such that it allowed them to vote for a piece of shit human being, serial cheater, admitted sexual predator, known fraudulent business man, etc. have other presidents had these qualities? maybe. but did we know that going in? no. we knew this about trump. and 60 million people voted for him anyway.
some were disenfranchised blue collar workers who always vote red when the democrats don't magically fix all of their industry's problems for them.
some were upper middle class people who are sick and tired of the country moving left in economic policies.
some were racist assholes who felt emboldened by how trump talks.
some were just fucking idiots who proclaimed "he talks just like me!".
some were rich folks that were just wanting to get richer.
some were people who are sick of the government getting their hands in everything (because they didn't need it/it hadn't benefitted them yet).
some were fooled by a used car salesmen with a golden toilet.

We have a good idea based on polling data. And we know that less educated, white males overwhelming support him and make up the majority of his base. We also know that Trump knows it and referenced it: "I love the poorly educated." He also knows that they take what he does as gospel: "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters, okay? It’s like incredible."BS44325 said:

I also like BS and when I engage in a discussion I try never to take personal shots at him (or any poster). It is possible to have a disagreement without it being considered "ganging up" or talking to him like he's a piece of shit. I'm happy he is around challenging assumptions. But sometimes I wish he'd also make concessions, as Letbetterman10 said, and call him out, or at least acknowledge once in a while when Trump does objectively stupid things.my2hands said:I like BS, and agree with some of what he says...
