There’s more than one way to skin a cat , impeachment please point me as to who’s talking impeach is Pelosi or Schiff ? It’s almost like the posters above are looking to be proven wrong just let the investigations take their course , to me even if he goes into retirement as thee worst president ever after two term I’ll let history tell the story a 2nd term will only stave off the outcome most of us see coming he will go down a disgraced president..

If there was anything major found, it would have been leaked. You honestly think that over 2 years of investigating that Mueller would be able to keep everything under wraps? If there was collusion many people would know about it and someone would have the evidence and be willing to talk.

I've asked this question 100s of times to people, How did Russia make you vote for Trump and would you want to change your vote because of the Russians? Not one person has told me how or yes. 

Trump is not getting impeached, hes not resigning. And if the Democrats keep heading down the same road he will get re-elected. 

In all fairness, Hugh, I think what is alleged is propaganda from Russian bots, and someone that was influenced by it wouldn't be consciously aware that they were. 

That said, I also have a bad feeling that Mueller isn't going to have anything that could take Trump down. At least as far as Russian interference in the election goes. His business ties there may be a different story though.

Also, does the senate have to convict in order to force him to resign? Asking for a friend...

Nixon resigned because the writing was on the wall.  They were going to convict.  No other reason to resign.  If Meltdown is right and there's no way the Senate would convict, he would not resign.  And he's probably right.  It's just a different time than it was in the 1970s.  It wasn't "party first" then. 

It is conceivable that the GOP would try to get  him not to run if he were impeached, as that would probably hurt his chances in the general. But they'd still never convict him.  And he'd run, if for no other reason to avoid facing justice.  USA!

It's starting to look like the Mueller probe is a dud, anyway so this is probably all moot.

Correct, different time but also wildly different circumstances. 

It's happening folks. Patience is the name of the game. 

A President is Impeached by the House of Representatives. A simple majority is needed to do so. The articles of impeachment, whatever they may be, have to be voted out of the sub-committees but that would be a given because it requires a vote that would be less than all democrats in the committees. The Speaker of the House then decides if it can be brought to the floor for a vote. 

If 2/3 of the Senate vote yes then the President is removed from office and the VP becomes President. 

This has never happened. 

Clinton and Jackson were impeached by the House and acquitted by the Senate (by not receiving a 2/3 vote). A President has never been removed from office by impeachment. Failing to reach a 2/3 threshold in the Senate is considered acquittal. But it is still a stain on the Presidency. How he would use it for short term political gain does not take away the fact that he would be included in the history books as only the 3rd President who has been impeached. I think that fact would eat at his ego. 

Nixon resigned before the House could vote in order to avoid being impeached - which he would have been - and then his VP Ford pardoned him for of any crimes that may or may not have occurred while in office. The Congress and Independent Counsel for Watergate had indictments ready to go but Ford beat them to it. 

So Trump could be impeached and remain in office, like Clinton and Jackson. 

The House and Senate could also choose to Censure the President which has a lower threshold and that's basically saying that he has been a bad President and harmed America (in simplistic terms). 

Pardoning Trump if he resigned would not cover his butt as it did with Nixon because of the investigations that could lead to indictments by states. 

And any member of the cabinet including the Vice President can be Impeached or Censured, just like any Senator or Representative. And there have been quite of few of those (in Congress).
