These scumbags have learned that these tactics work. I have to give them credit. I’m now starting to think this calamity wasn’t by accident.

Nobody seems to want to admit it, but humanity is full of full on dumbasses. The dumbasses have always been there: look how long National Enquirer has been selling dumbass stories that dummies find fascinating.

This regime has tapped into the dumb pool. And it’s big. Really big. Enough to garner support- even elect a president.

Again... democracy’s weakness has been exposed. When dumbasses vote... there is no safe bet. The dems better start looking for a catchy slogan and some merchandise if they want to attract the morons. They also better invent some good lies that the guppies love to believe.

Taking the high road might be their demise.

My advice for a slogan? Go simple: “Vote for me and I’ll make your wildest dreams come true!”

    Boom. Done. Lights out.

Now you see why we have an electoral college, and why senators were not directly elected until about 100 years ago.  The founders did not trust the 'rabble' as they called them, the large swaths of uneducated masses, e.g. dumbasses.  And they sure didn't believe in direct democracy.

What you commented has nothing to do with mrussel's point. He's talking about the gatekeeping functions of parties in the States which used to be far stronger, and now have been replaced with more direct democracy and less gatekeeping than ever before. And to your point about 2016 - there's the evidence on what happens with more direct democracy (by the masses, stupid/ignorant inclusive) and less gatekeeping (by the party, corruption included). Not that I see a good option, we just have to collectively decide which is worse and mitigate the better.

You think democracy just got exposed? You think this is the first bad leader ever elected? Not even close... and again, you take a far too simplistic view of the 2016 election and the issues

Catchy slogan and merchandise to attract morons? You mean like "Hope", "Change", and "Artists for Obama" line of LE election art prints... Obama campaign sold a fuck-ton more  merch that Trump, he was the PJ of politics, selling everything they could...

And these dumbasses apparently will go to the polls and vote.  Gotta give them a little credit for at least exercising their right to vote and shape politics...but I wish they'd just stay home.  I know, I know it's voter suppression...but I would really like some basic test required for one to be able to vote.  If you don't know more than a few talking points and can not articulate the opposing point of view on topics other than by radical terms...you don;t get to vote.  You are too stupid or too brainwashed.

I was expecting a response like this because obviously Tiki is commending Klobachar's "adultness" in comparison to Trump who acts like a petulant child. But as I've said many times, the rules of politics don't apply to Trump for some reason. So he doesn't really need to be an adult like every other politician does, and everyone is going to come off "adult" compared to him.

I think you missed the point.  Trump set a low bar.  She cleared it.
