I feel so disconnected from PJ. It’s a weird feeling honestly. Between the merch craze, the complete lack of interest in new music, the baseball stadiums, the odd touring schedule, announcing one date at a time, another EV solo tour, the formulaic setlists.... I’m not complaining, it’s just all things I would of never picture 10 years ago. I’ll always love this band but I gotta say, I get the feeling the magic is dissipating.

    Just in case
disclaimer: this is just my opinion. Not a fact. Believe it or not, others may not feel this way and there’s nothing wrong with that either.

    Many folks share your opinion.

Many people will go to these shows and have the best nights of their lives.

Yet Im troubled by the fact that this is the least excited ive ever been by a tour. It genuinely bothers me, but im putting it down to venue sizes........

I was a bit concerned as well, but then I read the fan views from Firenze Rocks 2017 and was quickly put to ease.

I went to the 2017 Firenze show with no hype at all thinking it would just be an average festival show. We had tickets to the Taormina shows which we were excited for and this show was almost an afterthought. We were in the country at the time and wanted to see Florence anyways so we got tickets. What we got was an amazing show that floored us from start to finish. Yes Eddie is better suited for the theatres and smaller venues but he can pull of the big shows too. With that said being in the pit for 10 hours before Eddie even came on with sub par bands before him was a drag. Glen and his band killed it though.

it will be to hard to beat taormina ever again, that theater, that acoustic, that view with the volcano in the back..
that was the best set up of eddie solo of all times
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."

Oh great a Bavarian Show ;-)
  • I’m really hoping those of you who are so negative about this solo tour will just not go and leave the tickets for those of us who are psyched about seeing Ed in Europe this summer.

By the sizes of the venue they have selected you will have no issues getting tickets. To the point of the negativity you have to understand that people were/are hyped for a new album and NA tour with Pearl Jam. Yes that can still happen this year but with Eddie touring for a month in June/July it really points in the direction of not going to happen.

Perhaps it is just a realization that Pearl Jam is what matters most to you.  Ed is a big piece of it, but at the end of the day you love Pearl Jam.

But yeah, I don’t think I will go to many PJ shows where I am 30+ yards from stage unless a festival,  I want to be close enough where I watch the band and not the screens.

If Ed put out another banger like ITW nobody would be negative about this little tour...

I mean, he HAS to be releasing an album, right?

Ed solo till the end of summer
Then pj touring in US (fall)
    Australia January and Feb
Ed solo in March too (aus)
Summer 2020 pj back in EU
    (wishlist)
EV & PJ back in Euro in 2020? So soon? :/

    2017 EV Euro Tour.
    2018 PJ Euro Tour.
    2019 EV Euro Tour.

How about maybe take a break from travelling to Europe and play shows in continents that haven't seen or experienced EV & Pearl Jam in many, many years maybe? Australia & Asia? Last EV solo tour in the USA was 2014. His last solo tour in Canada was 2008.

    Australia :)
    I wish
I am with you on that. Next Australia tour I am there as long as they are not all festivals.
Don’t worry about festivals, no festivals here big enough for PJ anymore!
No more BDO? I would kill for a 6 or 7 show proper run.

2014 was the last BDO, it was widely known that after that tour the BDO would be no more. Next time PJ come down under it will be with their own tour. I can’t see any festival big enough to cater for them.
