    Report: Suns interested in Fultz

PHILADELPHIA PA - NOVEMBER 19 Markelle Fultz 20 of the Philadelphia 76ers defends against the Phoenix Suns on November 19 2018 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia Pennsylvania NOTE TO USER User expressly acknowledges and agrees that by downloading andor using this Photograph user is consenting to the terms and conditions of the Getty Images License Agreement Mandatory Copyright Notice Copyright 2018 NBAE

The Phoenix Suns are among the teams with "some level of interest" in embattled Philadelphia 76ers point guard Markelle Fultz, reports the Inquirer's Keith Pompey, citing a source.

The No. 1 pick from the 2017 draft remains sidelined with his ongoing shoulder issue and was scheduled to meet with a specialist this week. Teams interested in Fultz want him to be truthful about his status, a source told Pompey - they don't want him to say he's experiencing shoulder and wrist problems if it's a mental block that's affecting his shooting. The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly looked into acquiring Fultz before trading Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz this week.

Fultz has shot a woeful 53 percent from the foul line since entering the NBA, frequently adjusting his mechanics.

The Suns, for their part, have been linked to several point guards since the season began, including Terry Rozier of the Boston Celtics. Phoenix has a gaping hole at the position and waived journeyman Isaiah Canaan - who had started 15 games this season - this week.

Embiid- 16 points and 15 rebounds in just 22 minutes.  If he played almost the whole game he could have had like 30 points and rebounds.

Wednesday at Toronto. Should be a good game, but Sixers haven't been playing too well on the road. Prove me wrong

Fultz out indefinitely with nerve issue between neck, shoulder

PHILADELPHIA PA - NOVEMBER 19 Markelle Fultz 20 of the Philadelphia 76ers looks on against the Phoenix Suns at the Wells Fargo Center on November 19 2018 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania
    Presented by

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Markelle Fultz has been diagnosed with neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome, an injury-induced disorder that affects nerves between the neck and shoulder, the team confirmed Tuesday.

The 76ers' announcement followed a statement from Fultz's agent, Raymond Brothers, to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The team said Fultz will begin physical therapy and is out indefinitely. Wojnarowskireports, however, that there is optimism he could return in three-to-six weeks.

The No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft has been away from the team since Nov. 20 while seeking opinions on his shoulder problems. Fultz visited several specialists, Wojnarowski adds.

"People were saying it was a mental problem and it is not. There’s no way you’re the No. 1 pick in the world and all of a sudden you aren’t able to consistently raise your arms to shoot," Brothers told Wojnarowski. "Something is physically wrong. Now we have the answer to that problem."

Thoracic outlet syndrome can result in abnormal functional movement and range of motion, affecting one's ability to do things like shoot a basketball. Fultz's shooting form has been marred by a myriad of issues since entering the NBA and he's connected on under 54 percent of his free throws.

    And now  this:

Report: 76ers upset with Fultz's agent over handling of diagnosis
    1h ago
Mitchell Leff / Getty Images Sport / Getty
PHILADELPHIA PA - OCTOBER 18 Head coach Brett Brown talks to Markelle Fultz 20 of the Philadelphia 76ers against the Chicago Bulls at the Wells Fargo Center on October 18 2018 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia 76ers' front office is reportedly "very angry" with the way Markelle Fultz's agent Raymond Brothers handled Tuesday's announcement that the point guard has thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), sources told 94 WIP's Howard Eskin.

According to the report, Brothers told ESPN about the diagnosis before the 76ers were notified.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first tweeted the news on Tuesday afternoon, with the team releasing a statement afterward.

Fultz has been away from the 76ers since Nov. 20 as he consulted with specialists over a recurring shoulder issue, which appears to be affecting his shooting mechanics. Tuesday's diagnosis of TOS is the first confirmation that the 20-year-old is dealing with a continuing condition.

Wojnarowski reported that the Sixers are optimistic that Fultz could return to action within three-to-six weeks, as TOS is treatable with physical therapy.

Last month, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Fultz is no longer in the 76ers' long-term plans.

joel looked lost yesterday and he said the same thing after the game but for me, the bigger problem is Simmons.  the guy can't shoot.  I understand that he is a great passer and everything but in today NBA people have to shoot and he just can't.

He has been very frustrating to me this year. I'm still amazed at the numbers he puts up and all the things he can do without even attempting outside shots....but gosh, dang it---shoot the fucking ball! Even when he's in the paint and has clear paths to the basket or has an opportunity to draw contact and get to the foul line, he's always looking to pass.

The other night with Chandler out, they were posting him up much more...using him more as a 4 instead of the pg and he dominated. Still no outside shots, but was really effected around the rim.

I think Embiid is a little gassed right now, like JK said. I'd lower his minutes a bit and give him a night off every now and then too.

right now I have the 76ers as the 4 best team in the east.  they really have no shooters outside of Butler and JJ, they have no bench at all.  so here is the question, as the team is now, what do they need to be in top 3 cause I don't know what they can do.

I commented after opening night that lack of depth would hurt the Sixers, watching that game last night it was even more evident.

The bench is razor thin, especially after the 2 for 1 deal for Butler and Fultz going off the reservation.

They're not done making moves. They will likely add another shooter and another 4 by the deadline.
Of the guys they have now, Shamet is an exceptional shooter. He's above league avg with 3's and TS% is just shy of 60%. Nobody knows about him yet. I've been impressed with how confident he looks out there for a late first round rookie.
Muscala and Chandler can shoot a bit too,  but they've gotta make another move or two and they will.

I'd say its a toss up between the Bucks and Sixers for the 3 and 4 spots right now. Boston's been playing better and likely will be 2nd seed when it's all said and done.

I don't know if shamet is an exceptional shooter.  he doesn't seem to take alot of shots but its true he is close to 40% 3 point shooter and playing around 20 minutes a game.  the question is if they are going to go for another shooter and another player who do they give up?  is it picks or something else?

I want the 76ers up there cause I love watching Emblid play.

Yeah Embiid had an "off night. Ben's performance pissed me off more. He only took like six shots! :anguished: Yeah not bench help. I think we only scored like 18 off the bench. Yeah I agree with you guys, their like a 3rd or 4th seed as of now.

    He's never made one.
Hasn't attempted one this year, but went 0 for 11 last year plus 0 for 1 in the playoffs.

And those 11 shots were all buzzer beating half/three quarter court heaves. I don't believe he has ever attempted an actual 3 point shot that wasn't a last second attempt.

Why not rest him against that scrub Knicks team last week? He owns Drummond.

I'm all for rest nights and less minutes/game....but resting him against another potential playoff team doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Between him and Fultz, Sixers should just hire a full time psychiatrist.
