Row 5 at RR night one including the pre-show BBQ with the drummer.  GA for night 2 and Forest Hills.

Nothing better than MMJ at RR (though Forest Hills is great as well).

Still unsure. I bought each separately, and both from his site which is pricier. Not sure I can fork out another $65 for the same albums, since its $13 for shipping

My Morning Jacket is proud to announce the release of THE TENNESSEE FIRE: DELUXE EDITION, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their now-classic debut album. The newly expanded edition includes all 16 original tracks alongside 16 previously unreleased and unheard, lost songs, demo outtakes, alternate versions, and more. THE TENNESSEE FIRE: DELUXE EDITION arrives via Darla Records on August 2, 2019.

In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of “The Tennessee Fire” My Morning Jacket will host a one-night-only performance at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. The band will be playing the full album in it’s entirety along with other songs from that era. It’s going to be a night to remember!

Pretty cool for them to do this!  Still hoping for new music (or live album) sometime soon!

Eh, not a big fan of some of the material and the production is just not my style. Probably their weakest effort in my view.

Agree on the production. I needed to hear most of those songs live to fully appreciate them. I love that collection of songs, but the recorded album as it stands does not do them justice.

So is the rumor that they are playing these shows out of contractual obligation, then announcing their breakup shortly after still floating around?

Last thing I read was a Washington Post interview in May previewing Jim's solo show at 9:30 Club.
Jim says they are planning to get together this fall & start to work on a new record:
While James is mostly on the road solo this year,
My Morning Jacket will play three shows this summer before getting together in the fall to work on new material, he says.
“Sometimes you just gotta step back and take a break for a while,” says James, who adds that the band recently finished a companion album to 2015′s “The Waterfall” and has a live record in the can.
“Everybody likes to hypothesize and guess and wonder, but sometimes it’s nice to just disappear for a while.

Yeah seems more likely they had originally planned to tour this summer (maybe around a release) but ended up scrapping the idea and taking an extended break.  These shows were booked well in advance so they stuck to playing them.
they will be back next year
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Have a great time  Derbydave and thanks again for the Jim James solo reviews last month. We’ve not seen a show at Red Rocks but did get
to visit that spectacular venue and all of the memorabilia in 2014 after the PJ concert.

Oh and we’ll continue to look forward to our first MMJ concert which hopefully is sooner than later.
