I haven't listened to entire shows beside Okonokos, which is very good, but I have several one-off live recordings in my digital library. Yes, they're solid and I've listened to a lot of their catalogue, including most of those cool live covers that they tend to be very good at ... but I dunno. I still just don't seem to have that "connection" with the music that I need to go from 'yeah, they're okay' to 'yeah, I love them!' Actually attending a show might do that, who knows. I'd like to find out.2-feign-reluctance said:

Yeah, have they ever?? Honestly, I've pretty much forgotten about these guys because without seeing them live the appeal isn't really holding up super well. If they came to Vancouver I'd totally go, and it would likely make me more into them.RobbyD462 said:
Last time I saw them up here was at the first Pemberton back in 2008.qontheboard said:RobbyD462 said:Still no Vancouver
When was the last time they played in Vancouver? They haven't played in Toronto for a few years now. Sort of wondered what was up with that?
Not sure when they actually played Vancouver though.

If you're a fan at all...

I'm so lost on MMJ nowadays I don't even know what youre talking about...
... was there talk of a new album?
Is an european tour happening soon?"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

Jim has a new solo album "Uniform Distortion" coming out at the end of June.
There was supposedly enough material left from The Waterfall sessions for a 2nd record,
and there is also a rumored live album in the works.
They are taking the year off and working on solo projects,
and hopefully some new MMJ music.
One Big Holiday was their only scheduled event for 2018...
there won't be any more dates until next year.

I've never managed to see My Morning Jacket live. I can't remember if they ever even came to Ireland. However, when their record Circuital came out I really got into that one. They had been on my radar as ones to check out for a while, after they popped up on Immagine In Cornice doing A Quick One, While He's Away with Eddie. I really ought to do a deep dive into more of their stuff soon because anything I've heard I've really dug a lot. Someone once told me that my band sounded like them. When I raised my eyebrows, they realised that they were wrong and had in fact meant My Bloody Valentine. To me this was a bigger compliment, I guess. Having said that, take the praise when you can get it I suppose. Anyway, do they organise these shows in the Dominican Republic themselves every year, like is it their creation?Dublin 2006
