Yeah, to say that was a bad loss is an understatement.

Report: Fultz not in 76ers' long-term plans

PHILADELPHIA PA - OCTOBER 18 Head coach Brett Brown of the Philadelphia 76ers talks to Markelle Fultz 20 in the first quarter against the Chicago Bulls at Wells Fargo Center on October 18 2018 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania The 76ers defeated the Bulls 127-108
    Presented by

Markelle Fultz is no longer a part of the Philadelphia 76ers' long-term plans, sources told Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 76ers will not use Fultz's shoulder issues as an excuse for his shooting struggles anymore and are considering trading the 20-year-old combo guard, Pompey added.

Reports earlier this week suggested Fultz was hoping for a fresh start in a new situation.

Fultz's agent denied the reports shortly after, suggesting he'd given no indication that his client wants to be moved, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Trading for perennial All-Star Jimmy Butler has seemingly shifted the franchises focus toward championship contention.

Philadelphia acquired Butler and Justin Patton from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Dario SaricRobert CovingtonJerryd Bayless, and a second-round pick on Nov. 12.

Fultz has since been demoted from the starting lineup and has missed the last two games with an injured wrist and shoulder.

Embiid didn't seem interested at all v. the Cavs. He should have 30 FT's v. a team like that.

Butler deflects praise after another game-winning 3 for 76ers

For the second time in seven games since joining the Philadelphia 76ersJimmy Butlersealed a win in dramatic fashion, but he wasn't eager to take credit.

Trailing by one against the Brooklyn Nets with the clock running down Sunday, the four-time All-Star created a sliver of separation from defender Rondae Hollis-Jefferson on the right wing and stepped back for an above-the-break 3-pointer with just 2.3 seconds left on the clock.

"Another play drawn up by (Sixers coach Brett Brown), and my teammates have a lot of confidence in me to take shots late," Butler said following the 127-125 win, according to ESPN's Ian Begley. "I got to the spot that I wanted to get to. Raised up, and I knocked it down."

Butler spoiled Kemba Walker's 60-point performance with a similar game-winning three-pointer to sink the Charlotte Hornets on Nov. 17. He says he trusts his teammates to make clutch plays too.

"To tell you the truth, it could have been anybody," Butler said. "They do have a lot of confidence in me, but I have so much more confidence in those guys."

Report: 76ers expect Fultz to return, reclaim role off bench
    4h ago
Mitchell Leff / Getty Images Sport / Getty
PHILADELPHIA PA - NOVEMBER 23 Markelle Fultz 20 of the Philadelphia 76ers watches the game from the bench against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Wells Fargo Center on November 23 2018 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia 76ers remain patient with Markelle Fultz as the former No. 1 overall pick has his right shoulder examined by specialists this week.

Philadelphia expects Fultz to return to the team and reclaim his role off the bench once a decision is made about the next step for his shoulder, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 20-year-old point guard will reportedly have his examinations extend through Wednesday with a decision coming later in the week.

Recent reports have suggested both parties are unhappy with their current working relationship. The Sixers reportedly don't envision Fultz being a part of their long-term plans while those close to Fultz have reportedly indicated he would prefer a fresh start elsewhere.

Prior to Fultz stepping away, it was evident the team was increasingly favoring T.J. McConnell as its backup point guard. With so much uncertainty surrounding Fultz, Wojnarowski reports Philadelphia has stopped fielding offers for McConnell.

Fultz is averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists on 41.9 percent shooting in 19 appearances this season.

    Report: Suns interested in Fultz

The Phoenix Suns are among the teams with "some level of interest" in embattled Philadelphia 76ers point guard Markelle Fultz, reports the Inquirer's Keith Pompey, citing a source.

The No. 1 pick from the 2017 draft remains sidelined with his ongoing shoulder issue and was scheduled to meet with a specialist this week. Teams interested in Fultz want him to be truthful about his status, a source told Pompey - they don't want him to say he's experiencing shoulder and wrist problems if it's a mental block that's affecting his shooting. The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly looked into acquiring Fultz before trading Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz this week.

Fultz has shot a woeful 53 percent from the foul line since entering the NBA, frequently adjusting his mechanics.

The Suns, for their part, have been linked to several point guards since the season began, including Terry Rozier of the Boston Celtics. Phoenix has a gaping hole at the position and waived journeyman Isaiah Canaan - who had started 15 games this season - this week.

Fultz out indefinitely with nerve issue between neck, shoulder

PHILADELPHIA PA - NOVEMBER 19 Markelle Fultz 20 of the Philadelphia 76ers looks on against the Phoenix Suns at the Wells Fargo Center on November 19 2018 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania
    Presented by

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Markelle Fultz has been diagnosed with neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome, an injury-induced disorder that affects nerves between the neck and shoulder, the team confirmed Tuesday.

The 76ers' announcement followed a statement from Fultz's agent, Raymond Brothers, to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The team said Fultz will begin physical therapy and is out indefinitely. Wojnarowskireports, however, that there is optimism he could return in three-to-six weeks.

The No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft has been away from the team since Nov. 20 while seeking opinions on his shoulder problems. Fultz visited several specialists, Wojnarowski adds.

"People were saying it was a mental problem and it is not. There’s no way you’re the No. 1 pick in the world and all of a sudden you aren’t able to consistently raise your arms to shoot," Brothers told Wojnarowski. "Something is physically wrong. Now we have the answer to that problem."

Thoracic outlet syndrome can result in abnormal functional movement and range of motion, affecting one's ability to do things like shoot a basketball. Fultz's shooting form has been marred by a myriad of issues since entering the NBA and he's connected on under 54 percent of his free throws.

    And now  this:

Report: 76ers upset with Fultz's agent over handling of diagnosis
    1h ago
Mitchell Leff / Getty Images Sport / Getty
PHILADELPHIA PA - OCTOBER 18 Head coach Brett Brown talks to Markelle Fultz 20 of the Philadelphia 76ers against the Chicago Bulls at the Wells Fargo Center on October 18 2018 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia 76ers' front office is reportedly "very angry" with the way Markelle Fultz's agent Raymond Brothers handled Tuesday's announcement that the point guard has thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), sources told 94 WIP's Howard Eskin.

According to the report, Brothers told ESPN about the diagnosis before the 76ers were notified.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first tweeted the news on Tuesday afternoon, with the team releasing a statement afterward.

Fultz has been away from the 76ers since Nov. 20 as he consulted with specialists over a recurring shoulder issue, which appears to be affecting his shooting mechanics. Tuesday's diagnosis of TOS is the first confirmation that the 20-year-old is dealing with a continuing condition.

Wojnarowski reported that the Sixers are optimistic that Fultz could return to action within three-to-six weeks, as TOS is treatable with physical therapy.

Last month, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Fultz is no longer in the 76ers' long-term plans.
