I read the other day that those who use a gun for protection in their home are far more likely to have that gun used against them during a burglary (or whatever) than they are to successfully protect themselves.

I absolutely believe that.  Think about domestic violence.  My cousin a retired cop, told me one time he was thankful handguns were restricted heavily in Canada ... some of those domestic violence calls are scary.  And gun storage would mean nothing in slowing someone down much because people who are in heated domestic violence arguments/fights generally do not calm down very quickly, according to his experience.
  • One of the good guys with a gun becomes a bad guy with a gun and kills and rapes some women in what authorities are calling a crime of opportunity. He was an outspoken critic of gun reform commenting once, "We should stop expecting criminals to follow the rules."

The death penalty might be an option in this case. To that I say 'dilly dilly' (and sooner the better).

Americans really are a bunch of assholes.  if you're gonna do it, don't leave a mess folks.

But you can't have sane, normal, decent gun laws because PJPOWER says it's in your beloved culture.
I wonder what all of those Swedies kill themselves with...Hand grenades?
Why are people so depressed in South Korea?  Damn.
Right? That's what I was wondering. Poor South Koreans. And they seem like such a happy bunch, I thought (I live in an area with a really large South Korean population - they really do seem cheery most of the time, with good senses of humour). How can a society that produced Gangnam Style be so depressed? (and no, I'm not being facetious, lol)
not sure if it has as much to do with depression as it does with cultural expectations.

that might be what ends up happening at some point.  i'm thinking the process will be messy, however.

Then once a state is located, the process can be sped up by allowing a purge a few times a year...

I'm in the Houston area.  I wasn't quite born here, but my family moved here when I was 2 years old.  I lived here through college and then lived in San Diego for 15 or so years and then moved back here about 4 years ago.
