    ^^^Yes, it is bizarre^^^

Up until last night, Fultz had been around 19-20 minutes/games for awhile. If he was hurt HE was hiding that? But, if so, he was playing through pain and was able to do a one-handed-windmill dunk?

Just saw this on Twitter(and it, somehow, gets stranger):

Here's a update on the #1 pick from this year. Real SHOCKER here>LOL>Won't play because of his foot. Though, if he has a food allergy problem, then that sucks.

Report: Sixers rookie Zhaire Smith has lost 'upward of 20 pounds'

By: Jeff Smith | 2 hours ago

The situation with Philadelphia 76ers rookie guard Zhaire Smith continues to get stranger as the season rolls on. After the team’s first-round pick underwent foot surgery in the offseason, he’s yet to play a single minute this year.

But Smith suffered an even bigger setback when the team revealed he underwent thoracoscopy surgery due to an allergic reaction from a food product. Earlier this month the team proceeded to make it known that Smith would not play during the 2018 calendar year.

Now, we have one more big curveball on the strange situation with Smith, coming from The Ringer’s John Gonzalez. In Gonzalez’s report, he cites that Smith has lost “upward of 20 pounds” and may not play at all during the 2018-19 NBA season.

Several reports stemming from the November 9 background briefing mentioned that Smith had “lost weight” over the past month and a half, but I was told that he lost “upward of 20 pounds.” For someone who’s listed at 199 pounds on the team website, that’s significant. As is the difference between Smith not playing in 2018, as reported, and “being in danger” of not playing at all this season, which is how it was explained to me.

This is an incredible turn of events if true. And to make matters even more complicated, Gonzalez cited that Smith has had “more than one procedure to address the issue” related to the food allergy.

Time will tell how this situation plays out, but as the end of the year draws near we should get an official update within the next month or so.

Zhaire Smith “in danger” of not playing at all this season

    Sigh.

    By Kevin F. Love@KevinFLove  Nov 20, 2018, 2:26pm EST

Just when you thought this afternoon couldn’t get any sadder following a report that Markelle Fultz would cease playing until he meets with a shoulder specialist, John Gonzalez slips this nugget into a piece at the Ringer:

A league source tipped me to Smith’s allergy issues on the morning of November 9. I spent the afternoon checking around and talked to people inside and outside the organization. I also reached out to Smith’s agent, who gave me a terse “no comment” before hanging up the phone. Then the team suddenly addressed the media late that night — before flying to Memphis for a game the next day and mere hours before news broke the next morning about the Butler deal.

I’m not sure what to make of that timeline. It might be coincidence, but it’s certainly curious. So was the way the information was ladled out by the organization. I was also told that he had more than one procedure to address the issue, which is evidently what the Sixers meant by the fuzzy “additional medical treatment” line. (The team had no comment, according to a spokesperson.)

I’m at a loss for words at this point regarding the injury luck (of lack of) with this Sixers team. It’s just sad and depressing. Zhaire is going through something that was at one point or another (maybe still?) seriously dangerous. Hoping he makes a full recovery.

I will add this: for as shitty as some aspects of this Sixers season seem, its. not. all. bad. THE SIXERS HAVE JIMMY BUTLER AND AN MVP CANDIDATE. These sorts of days are sometimes tough to get through without feeling like you just want to unplug from all things NBA. But good times are ahead.

"Shoulder specialist" better be code for "psychiatric hospital". Poor kid.

Anywho, I've never been opposed to more TIMOTHY JOHN running with the second team

     Hot Takes is a'takey today!
Wouldn't this make more sense if it was, ya know, Hinkie who made the Fultz move and not the guy the NBA foisted upon us in his replacement?

We have 3-1 odds, right now, to win the East and the best overall team we've had since Dr J was here. All of this is a result of the moves Hinkie made years ago. God bless that glorious bastard.

All Silver and Colangelo's mess, period. Hinkie didn't do anything other teams had already been doing for years. He just admitted to it. Hinkie would have traded Nerlens and Jah while they still had some value.

hinkie's team had the 2nd worst record in the history of the league. so in reality only one other GM did what he did.

yea hinkie probably would have traded those guys. for 2nd rd. picks. he loved those.  although he did draft those stiffs so shouldn't he take heat for that from his followers?

The shortsightedness of some people is both sad and funny.

This is the best Sixers team since the mid 80's and it is entirely a result of the moves that were put into place 5 years ago.

And it is no longer even a debate so, yeah, those people should just shut up and enjoy the ride.

He wasn't perfect but more often than not, he made the right move. Was it his time to go, maybe but Silver and Colangelo's didn't help much. Thank the heavens for Mrs. Colangelo!

let's let this team get out of the 2nd round before we declare them better than the Iverson and Barkley teams. those teams made an NBA finals and a Conference Finals.

Talent-wise, I think it's fair to say this team is better than any team since Julius was here (Barkely's teams--other than his rookie year w/Doc, never made it past the second round) We haven't had 3 stars on a team since those Dr J teams. That's all I'm saying. Nobody knows if they will end up with a parade, multiple parades, or no parades. That was never a guarantee. The point is they are in their best position to get there in decades.

And, really...to not give Hinkie credit is the same thing as Trump supporters believing the economy magically got better on January 20th, 2017. That's just laughable.

Along with his previously diagnosed shoulder injury, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Markelle Fultz is also reportedly dealing with a right wrist issue which has affected his ability to shoot, league sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania, Jared Weiss, and Derek Bodner.

Those with knowledge of Fultz's thinking told The Athletic that Fultz would also prefer to have a fresh start with a new team.

    More to come.

MIAMI FL - NOVEMBER 12 Markelle Fultz 20 of the Philadelphia 76ers in action against the Miami Heat during the second half at American Airlines Arena on November 12 2018 in Miami Florida
    Presented by

It's not just a right shoulder injury that's plaguing Markelle Fultz's ridiculed shooting form, as a right wrist issue has hindered his ability to hold on to the ball, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick, Derek Bodner, and Jared Weiss.

Those with knowledge of the former No. 1 overall pick's train of thought also told The Athletic that Fultz would prefer a fresh start in new surroundings.

Fultz's agent and attorney, Raymond Brothers, said he's given no indication that his client wants to be moved, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"I have given no indication to Elton Brand or anyone else that Markelle would prefer to be traded. My focus is to get Markelle healthy. End of story," Brothers said.

The 20-year-old will reportedly have his shoulder and wrist examined in New York on Monday and won't take part in any practices or games until then. Part of the reason why his shot has been so erratic is because Fultz is reportedly dealing with pain whenever he moves the ball up from his chest to shoot.

It's unclear as to when Fultz injured his wrist, how long he's been in discomfort, or if it's related to his shoulder injury, which is reportedly why he's worn a specialized undershirt during games.

Fultz reportedly took part in an informal shootaround Tuesday with his 76ers teammates, even though Brothers recommended he forgo practices and games until getting a second opinion on his shoulder.

The 76ers are reportedly unaware of anything that would prevent the Washington alumnus from being medically cleared to compete.

Fultz is averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists on 41.9 percent shooting from the field, 28.6 percent from behind the arc, and 56.8 percent from the charity stripe across 19 appearances for the 12-7 Sixers.
