Did you vote, yet?

Voted straight ticket female... if no woman was in the race, i didnt vote.
Will likely do that the rest of my life when possible. Same goes for minority candidates0 -
I'm sure it just depends on who is working the particular poll. There really isn't supposed to be campaigning at polling stations, but obviously a lot of people don't know it or don't care.njnancy said:
There were plenty of people wearing VOTE FOR BETO, GILLUM, ABRAMS shirts on the news at the polling places today. And MAGA hats. I had a jacket over my shirt since it's raining and shitty out here, but if not coming from work, I've always worn shirts that are political or in support of voting on election day. I doubt any of the people who couldn't find stickers would have confronted me.PJ_Soul said:
I don't think it counts unless it's about the current candidates being voted for that day. There are only laws against campaigning at polling stations, which means campaigning for the people on the ballots. Nobody's going to be stopped from wearing a Nixon shirt or something, lol.PJPOWER said:
I’m actually a bit surprised they let you wear that shirt to the polling place. Many states have laws that prevent people from wearing political clothing in polling places.njnancy said:Walked in and out in five minutes - took the longest to get my sticker. But the number on my voter ticket was 3 x's higher than usual, especially for a midterm. Election volunteers said that there was above average first time voter and young people turnout. Awesome. And there are 4 hours left to vote, so still have the after work crowd. Didn't get to vote as a family, but everyone voted. Kinda bummer. Life.

I'm aware of no campaigning within a certain distance from the polling station. Most people had jackets or flannels in addition to their shirts. I'm in a blue blue area of a blue blue state, we don't have to show ID's or anything. And Obama isn't on the ballot. I put the sticker on my jacket and transferred it to my t-shirt once I got home.PJ_Soul said:

I love that shirt. You got to pick your state and in most cases, the wording was within an outline of the state. Mine wasn't, but I still love it.Post edited by njnancy on0 -

Not surprised but sad to hear of all the bullshit going on today to screw up people's right to vote...gerrymandering is hopefully going to be baked out of the cake one day. Maps should be drawn by a non-partisan geographical body with common sense lines around districts.mrussel1 said:0 -

Betty Cantor called the winner in Tampa. This is big because she was struggling and Tampa flips around. Dems appear to have taken entire Tampa Bay metro. Nice.0

Voted with my kiddos after dinner. Seemed as busy as a presidential election year. Never seen it like that for midterms. Got a sticker when I got my ballot and offered another after I voted. Told the man I already had one, but then noticed my sticker had fallen off in the booth so I grabbed another. Ran off to basketball with the kids and one of the coaches looked at my youngest and said, "Did you get to vote twice?" Looked over and noticed my sticker must have rubbed off on to his arm in the booth

We have 2 Senate seats and the governor up for election in MN. All currently held by a Dem. The governor could go either way I think, but the Senate seats should hold. It's a hopeless situation...0
