what the hell is "cut the bladder"???tempo_n_groove said:
What does an amputation smell like?rgambs said:Seen and smelled, in fact. Another hurdle lol
The only time I've smelled anything out of the ordinary was when I cut the bladder on accident. That smells. Everything else wasn't bad at all.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
Yeah and I was thinking specifically, if you are doing it at home...no ventilation, no suction, low velocity saw with a used blade, no ortho hood.tempo_n_groove said:
You know I didn't think about when the saw gets hot.rgambs said:
Igh, that smell of the saw going through the cortical bone, that half-burnt smell from the intense friction heat, the blood, obviously, and worst of all...the incredibly acrid smell of bovie on bone. Accckkkkk! I can taste it in the back of my throat just thinking of it, it's like sucking on a tailpipe full of meat scraps.tempo_n_groove said:

I know what you mean now. I was thinking of just skinning but yeah that would be an awful stench.
Ever been in the room with a few liters of blood on the floor? Gut-clentching. Obviously that doesn't happen often in an OR, a little more in an ER...but in your garage, on the workbench, probably a crude tourniquet. Yikes. Dexter shit.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -
My spidey sense is tingling on this story. There must be news archives of someone cutting their arm off with a Skilsaw if this happened in the last 20 years.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

Reminds me of the conversation my family had last Christmas (because we're a bit weird) about whether or not we'd agree to get genital herpes for $10 million.mace1229 said:I'd give my right arm to be famous.

Like njnancy says “psycho” is just a slang term.tempo_n_groove said:
Psycho as in short for psychotic.oftenreading said:
How are you using the word “psycho”? Doesn’t seem like you are using it in the medical sense.tempo_n_groove said:
I wasn't aware that being psycho was a symptom of MA.. I thought it was in a league of it's own.rgambs said:
WTF else would make you cut your arm off?tempo_n_groove said:
What I'm getting at is if you choose to take a skillsaw to your own arm to cut it off that would be "psychotic" and apparently a cause of that is mental illness.oftenreading said:
I’m not sure what you are getting at. Psychosis is a state involving symptoms such as delusions or hallucinations. Psychosis can be part of bipolar disorder as well as lots of other mental illnesses. It’s a syndrome, not a diagnosis on its own.tempo_n_groove said:Mental illness caused him to cut off his arm? I would think that is psychotic but maybe that is part of mental illness?
Who knew?
A really good hallucinogenic could make you cut an appendage off too.

When removing the innards you don't want to cut the bladder open because it stinks.HughFreakingDillon said:

Makes you feel sorry for all those who did it for free, coulda had $10M.0

I said absolutely yes. That shit isn't curable, but it's treatable, lol. I think I got a psycho-socio-economic lesson that day though. My bro-in-law is totally rich, so he and my sister said they wouldn't even take it for $100 million.rgambs said:

Yes there are. Some people have terrible breakouts, others not so much, and some barely at all, and treatment can be much more effective for some than for others. Also, I have an ex-boyfriend who was a herpes medical researcher, and he told me that they have a cure for it all figured out, but the pharmaceutical companies make too much from just treating a life long disease, so the cure has never been developed for the public. Of course, I'm sure this isn't surprising to any of you.tempo_n_groove said:

The only thing surprising is that they put the research into it in the first place if they make that much money on the treatments.PJ_Soul said:
