Growing up my parents listened to the Beatles, John Denver, Beach Boys and random 60's rock. However they never played Zep or Pink Floyd. I'll give each of them a sample today.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:
I was going through my records yesterday and came up with this list.
Pink Floyd and Zeppelin are my all time faves.
I don't listen to them much anymore (Floyd more than Zep), but I tip my cap to them anytime I have the opportunity to do so.
Floyd is more 'personal' (headphones) and unique- best for a melancholy mood... and Zep is more 'shared' (loud)- best for a gathering or good time mood."My brain's a good brain!"0 -
Beatles: Rubber Soul/ RevolverA couple other favorite back-to-backs:

"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
Gish -----> Siamese Dream
Siamese Dream -----> Mellon Collie & Infinate Sadness"Going where the water tastes like wine!"0 -
Pearl Jam: Ten/Vs
That's the way, respectively, I feel about Radiohead and Oasis.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:mcgruff10 said:

Hmmmmm, seems like I messed up. Forgot about rattle and hum being in between the two. Solid album for sure.rummy said:
No Rattle & Hum on your initial list?mcgruff10 said:The only thing these albums have in common are that they are my favorite artists. These albums make up a huge part of my life.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -
U2: Joshua Tree/Achtung Baby
I thought about that but picked it anyway. Actually U2 was great from Boy-October-War-The Unforgettable Fire-Joshua Tree-Rattle & Hum. After that, I started to lose interest. Angel of Harlem is one of my favorite U2 songs.mcgruff10 said:

Pearl Jam: Ten/Vs
I think R&H would have been better if they separated the studio tracks from the live ones - too much of a "mish mash" as it is. In any event, I would put JT and AB in my top ten list for sure. Great, great albums.mcgruff10 said:

Not even the 1990's stuff??? The Bends is usually a good starting point for a nineties-rocker like yourself (and me)!mcgruff10 said:

Same with Angel!
When they started playing it two shows ago in Vancouver... I was ecstatic!"My brain's a good brain!"0 -

I tried and it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I wanted to like them real bad but I just couldn’t.rummy said:

Beatles: Rubber Soul/ RevolverOne mare pair definitely makes the one-two cut:
"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
Of the choices listed, PJ, U2, & DMB would be my top 3. Not sure which order but they are all great 1-2 punches. I kind of agree with Rattle & Hum being too much of a mish-mash in between to really be considered a true album (even though it is great). Some other good back-to-back homers:
