I'd argue a majority of the posters are ending up in fans hands. While there is probably a decent percentage that go up on ebay (20% is an outlier because its an AP variant), fans are getting them for their $35 price.
No way, the vast majority of PJ posters are selling for at least double on Ebay, even the ugly crappy ones
Sorry I should have clarified, I'm not saying that the posters are selling for $35 on ebay. I'm saying of all the posters sold at shows and online, maybe 10-20% end up on ebay (regardless of price). I'm saying the other 80-90% are being sold to fans at the show for face. Flipping sucks. And it sucks when you cant get that piece of merch that will make you happy from attending a show, but I'd argue most merch is ending up in true fans hands for face value and that secondary market sales, while bad, aren't the majority of sales, but the extreme minority. It just so happens happy fans aren't gonna complain or weigh in, and the unhappy fans are the vocal ones and will stand out more.
I learned by the age of 9 that the kid next door sometimes had cooler toys, some different stickers or hockey cards than me, but it was alright, you can't have everything you want in this life.
9? Nine? What took you so long?
Hi!! Kid next door checking in. I just wanted to thank the flippers for my Sea, Miss, Chi, and Boston stickers. Didn't go to Sea or Missoula, Wrigley 1 I was on a date, Wrig 2 I got there at like 8 and Fenway 1 I just didn't even try. But all others I got at the shows. I will be sticking them on my tool box today.
I’m ashamed to say that I paid $20 for a Missoula sticker on eBay. I was at the show and got everything I wanted except the trout sticker. So..... I hate the price I paid, but am also happy that I had the opportunity to buy it (because PJ ain’t gonna sell me one online).
