Her views are well known, but still an illegal killed her.  Her opinions did not mean anything to that animal.
Stephen Craig Paddock was an American citizen. He shot and killed 58 people last year. That animal.

He was also a "responsible" gun owner. Until he wasn't.
So would this be a case of a law abiding illegal immigrant until he wasn’t?
    LOL. touche gruffy.
Ha, seems like that is a fair case to make in the AMT

hey, we can't have it both ways. I think it was a pretty clever comment.
I was thinking the same as you. Sometimes (and often for no good reason)... Scruffy takes a beating here; however, in this particular thread, Scruffy is on top of his game.

I wonder if this tweet is true based on the last sentence of the article:
Tibbetts' family released a statement Wednesday saying their "hearts are broken." The statement did not, however, mention immigration.
    https://www.yahoo.com/gma/trump-says-mollie-tibbetts-family-separated-slain-student-153513706.html
    Yes, True.

    https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/23/us/mollie-tibbetts-iowa-student-death/index.html
A second cousin tweeted it and they didn’t know each other particularly well nor is she speaking for the family. Got it.
Trouble reading? I shouldn't have to hold your hand to figure this out.
WHat are you talking about ?  The tweet I questioned about was from a second cousin who didn’t really know the deceased and wasn’t speaking for the family. That s all, I was just wondering the connection between the deceased and the person who tweeted.

How do you know he/she "didn't really know the deceased" ?
He is talking out of his ass because this family, apparently, doesn't buy into the maga anti immigration narrative.

Dude it is in the article: One of Tibbetts' second cousins, Samantha Lucas, also told CNN she wants Tibbetts' death removed from political discussion.
Lucas said she didn't know her second cousin well, and isn't speaking for the whole family.

    https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/23/us/mollie-tibbetts-iowa-student-death/index.html

I was just wondering if the tweet was valid since sometimes we put up tweets that are found to be fake.  I'm taking this particular tweet with a grain of salt since the "author" didn't really know the victim.  That's all, nothing else.  Just wanted to see if the tweet was real.
So you’ve confirmed that the tweet is real and from a family member, and you’ve read the article which also has similar statements from the victim’s aunt as well as a close family friend... yet you’re still taking this “with a grain of salt?”

    what don’t you believe, exactly?

A friend said?  Isn't that called hearsay?
Don't ever discount hearsay when it comes to missing females.  Canada had to set up an enquiry into missing and murdered indigenous woman...

    Missing and murdered Indigenous women
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_and_murdered_Indigenous_women

We have the highway of tears as well

    Highway of Tears murders
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highway_of_Tears_murders

I'm not saying there is anything to the Iowa rumour ... but police do a shitty job of investigating issues surrounding females.

I'm quite sure that if 40+ women went missing from the same area in the span of 3 1/2 months there would be a pretty fucking strong reaction in Canada though. That's a lot of women and a very short time period. I know that a lot of cases of missing persons, especially those who are marginalized, are horribly ignored by authorities for one reason or another, including the Highway of Tears that you mentioned as well as the whole Willy Pickton thing ... but both of those stories span years, not a few months. I'm way more than a little suspicious of unsung's friends' claims, lol, given the fact that there is no link provided. There is no way that wouldn't be in the news.

But anyway, I agree there is no reason to be bringing other stories into this one to try and minimize this one... although I understand why people did it, as I'm sure everyone does.
I'm not sure how I feel about stories that are obviously focused on to a great extent (more than usual) specifically because the criminal is an illegal immigrant... It's not like I want to protect the criminal. I guess I just don't like how such stories are used as weapons against illegal immigrants and asylum seekers in general. These stories really do serve racists well, and those racists have no problem taking advantage of a person's murder to advance their racist position. We all know this is done regularly - it's not exactly subtle. It also bothers me that mainstream media seems to do the same thing, but their motive is ratings rather than racism.

I personally kind of find the fact that a criminal is an illegal immigrant a bit of a moot point TBH. I really do get why it irks people more than if it were a citizen.... But... so what? They're already illegal. It's not like someone stands at our borders handing out orientation brochures to illegals and we then smack our heads when the illegal we welcomed murders someone. So what's the point of the extra focus exactly, if not to paint all illegals in an unjustifiably terrible light? I can't think of anything that does besides fan the fires of racism and fear.

Bro you posted a tweet with absolutely no explanation.  I wondered if the tweet was real, someone posted an article and we found out the tweet you posted was by a 2nd cousin who doesn't really know the victim and doesn't not speak for the family.  I'm guessing your intention by providing us with the tweet was to show that the family doesn't want this turned into a border control or illegal immigration reform situation and rather concentrate on the actual murder.
I'm taking it with a grain of salt because anybody could have said that.  If it was an actual immediate family member then I think it would have more merit but the fact that a second cousin (I couldn't even tell you who my second cousins are) tweeted doesn't really hold any water hence my statement of "I'll take it with a grain of salt."

And you didn't provide a tweet from the aunt or close family friend, you only provided a tweet from a second cousin who doesn't know the victim too well.

Here is but one example, of probably thousands. Never mind the kids separated from their parents and still unaccounted for. Focus on those that are criminals and not those contributing to society. And spare me the, “but they’re here illegally mantra.”

What? Did you read the article you are referencing? It quotes her aunt and a close family member who voiced similar sentiments as the cousin did on twitter. And I posted the aunt’s Facebook post earlier this afternoon. Scroll up—or, again, read the article you’re referencing.

And, sorry but “doesn’t know the victim” is not the same thing as not knowing her well.

There really isn’t anything to take with a “grain of salt” here.

Edit—also, just because you don’t know a second cousin of yours doesn’t mean other families are the same. I know mine.

Yeah I’m certsinly against trump and those using it as some sort of mantra.

But the facts are a person that shouldn’t be in the country did kill someone. We need full immigration reform.  Not just because this...there are 11 million people here illegally.

we could have had it under obama. once obama said he supported rubio's overhaul bill, rubio pulled support for his own bill.

    Natural law? Wtf?

Cause laws are important. And if not working you change the law. You for any laws? Only “natural laws”?

This is a pretty silly argument.  You can't pick and choose what laws you like and want to follow based on your agenda.  Whether you like it or not there are international borders and there are ramifications if you choose to violate the laws of whatever country you are going to.  I'd like you to try your argument while sneaking into North Korea or turkmenistan.  good luck!

what about the US citizen in CO who killed his pregnant wife and two daughters?
It crazy awful. I didn’t see anyone start a thread.  But they weren’t missing very long, so I think that also plays into less interest. His one was building before she was found dead.

So if this killer was was an American would this thread have been started that’s the key ? I tend to believe that the answer would be a resounding no ! It’s a tragedy no parents should have to endure I feel for the family and yes there has to be a way of getting complete immigration reform done l the killer should do life in jail or what ever the penalty is for murder in that state ...
