But Ledbetter works better for me as a "thank you, good night" type song..

It is all in moderation. I wouldn't want to hear the same song every night. I love the slow endings though. It gives you a chance to just relax and soak everything in. Look around at the room and all the people with the lights on.
Now, starting a show with Go or Animal every once in a while would be a nice change of pace.

Listen to me Pearl Jam.
But YL is the ending song. Just like Release is the opening song.

After be stuck for a half hour+ in the concourse to get out, I’d choose YL just so I can head towards the exit.

Although, I’d love to see it close out Encore 1, so they can just rock out in Encore 2

When the lights are on, and they're leaving that last encore on anything other than YL... isn't a part of you hoping that Mike hangs back and 'forces' the rest of the guys back out, for that final, final goodbye??
Not fair...Ed's use of non standard chorus/ verse structures makes the majority of their songs very difficult to recall lyrics
They closed Cleveland 2010 with Indifference and it just didn't feel 'done'.
