I agree. I can see how some might see it as “distasteful” on a artistic personal preference level, but otherwise I believe it falls under the 1st Amendment rights category. But I also agree with your previous comment about the outrage by thin skinned individuals if the tables were turned. It’s just a fucking politically inspired concert poster at the end of the day, not a call for violence or threat or anything that would take it out of the realm of 1st Amendment protected rights.HughFreakingDillon said:this poster does not depict anything violent. I'm not sure how anyone can make that claim. if tester was standing over trump with Negan's baseball bat, then sure, but all it shows is his skeleton. this is so not a big deal.
It most likely wouldn’t be one that I would hang on my wall due to the political nature (I prefer to display more light hearted artwork in my house), but could see it being a cool “signs of the times” piece of artwork in the future.Post edited by PJPOWER on0

anyone on the left claiming there wouldn't be absolute outrage and condemnation if this was Obama is kidding themseleves. even if it somehow, miraculously, couldn't be misconstrued as racially motivated, the left would still go apeshit over it.PJPOWER said:

I disagree. A conservative rock bands poster with a zombie Obama wouldn’t have elevated to the media circuit like this poster. Therefore there would be less of a reaction. Conservatives like to play victim, both a victim of liberals and liberal artists/hollywood. Right wing media picks up on all of this quickly and feeds the mentality.HughFreakingDillon said:

I agree, it almost seems as though people are desperate to find something to be offended by these days and the media LOVES playing off of it. I’m sure Rachel Maddow and her followers would be the first to launch. But again, from either side of the spectrum, it’s ridiculous to be “outraged” over this. We’ll probably get a chance to see as I can totally picture imitation posters being made with any number of Democrats being portrayed as some sort of “revenge” for this poster since it has been so trending.HughFreakingDillon said:

Now that I had a long look at the poster in person, I think it would have been much better (sorry if this was already suggested) if instead of the vote in the blue sky, a giant blue wave about to crash over the WH was depicted. It would signify the impending blue waves of 2018 and 2020 putting out the WH fire and 5 deferment Don along with it. Vote could have been scribed at the top of the wave and Big Pharma Jon could have been riding it to victory.
I hope JA didn't spend too much thought on his version, either way he could incorporate my expressions and have a second release. Permission granted.

Did someone request a space alien?Halifax2TheMax said:
Before Alex Jones had his time out, he was reporting that a cabal of artists were conspiring against Team Trump Treason through a soon to be released stealth campaign in a surprising and disturbing location because of its vast importance to control of the senate, one that you wouldn't think would be attacked as its the heart of the conservative homeland and that it had to be stopped. He was sworn to secrecy by Q but was going to be given all the information required prior to tell his listeners when and how they could stop it. But first they had to donate whatever they could afford so he could pay the clergy to pray for their souls, so horrific this mission would be. But now, the 4th estate corrupted their heroic plan and the plot has proceeded. You see folks, Jeff Ament’s poster (see his early art work that predicted Comet Pizza, Elvis' disappearance, the Kennedy assassinations, Mt. St. Helens' eruption and his band mate plays a song called Eruption-further evidence) is really a magic mirror into the future and the deep state has the assistance of aliens as evidenced by the spaceship in the lower left of the image. This is serious folks and if you don’t donate to the cause, to stop the mind enslavement of conservatives and the gutting of their values by removing their dear leader, you will suffer in the flames and be lost. Donate now, donate now, I beg of you to donate now and stop this smelly, stinky, unwashed artists plot of the sweat of Satan and his minions. I beg of you, donate now! #alexjonessavesmontanaandthustheUSAbrianlux said:

 A poster.No...
 Listen...
 A poster.
A rock n' roll poster has made NATIONAL news. Not a group of Nazi's with tiki torches marching at a college.
Not a car plowing through protesters.
Not a madman with an assault rifle killing children.
Not a president who has pulled out of the Paris Accords.
 Not children being caged.
Not when the President cut funding for Public Television.
Not native Americans being forced off their land for a pipeline.
Not a president who openly admitted to sexually assaulting females.
Not a president who had a sexual relationship with a porn star.
AND COVERED IT UP WITH HUSH MONEY!!!!
Not a proven relationship with a foreign government who influenced the American voting process.No... they aren't upset or outraged about ANY of those things. Do you hear what I'm saying? A poster. A rock n roll poster... A POSTER for a ROCK CONCERT has literally upset the the Republican Party.
The Republican Party is the the group who has coined the phrase "snowflake" and who has admonished millennials for being overly sensitive. What kind of twisted, bizarro alternative fucking universe are we living in? You've got your panties allllllll twisted because of a poster. Let me get out this tiny violin for you multi-millionaires.

Really where was the outrage when the racist pigs were hanging Obama in effigy or when idiot in chief had Nugent as his guest at the WH even after he referred to 1st lady Obama as a monkey ? No the hypocrisy is evident ..mace1229 said:
That was basically my point. No one mentioned racism, I just said I find it funny that many are making fun of those who are offended, when I know for a fact there would be even more outrage if this poster came out a few years ago depicting Obama.PJ_Soul said:
Having racist undertones isn't comparable. There is nothing racist about this poster. And yeah, as mentioned, Trump DESERVES this kind of reaction. He's created it himself. I think it's pretty crazy for conservatives to think that Trump is going to get away with what he does without any kind of backlash, including through artistic expression.mace1229 said:

What did Obama do to be hated so much that he would be depicted on a poster in such a way? Other than be black?mace1229 said:I don’t get calling them conservative snowflakes for not liking this.
If some country band had the same poster with Obama, do you not think there’d be 10 times the outrage? With accusations of racism and everything else.
im not offended, but I get why some would be.
i just find it funny that conservatives get made fun of for being offended for something like this, but if the shoe was on the other foot there’s probably be marches and boycotts over it.
I also think it’s very understandable to be upset that a current president is depicted as dead with a bird eating him. Also why I don’t get the poking fun at them.
Your response is that having racist undertones isn’t comparable. All I said was if this has Obama instead, and now that is suddenly racist?
Why are conservatives “snowflakes” for getting offended, but it’s okay to accuse anyone who doesn’t like obama as a racist?
I think the poster is sort of ugly, but the symbolism doesn’t bother me. I’d buy it if it actually said “Pearl Jam” anywhere one it and I was there.
I just find the difference funny. All the lashing towards anyone who is offended, but imagine a poster made of Hilary? Facebook would crash from all the responses and protests over it. I have no doubt the hysteria would be 10 times what it is if this depicted anyone on the left, so let’s just stop poking fun at everyone who doesn’t like it. Or not, because it’s actually amusing to me when they do.jesus greets me looks just like me ....0

            Can we define "outrage"?
I haven't really seen what I call outside, outside of comments on Fox. Maybe some think it is in poor taste, but that isn't the same as outrage. Didn't even Tester say it was poor taste, so I think that is a reasonable reaction.
Ignore some Fox broadcasters and there isn't much outrage that I've seen.0

I guess the giant P & J on the poster stand for who ?jesus greets me looks just like me ....0

I have had to set a few friends in place over the poster. A couple were just busting balls and others were really giving me the biz. I just said Trumps tweets don’t register to me why would something like this bother me? It is art. I also reminded a couple Metallica fans their members were pretty liberal so pump the brakes on all the hate.91 - Ames Iowa CY Stephens Auditorium
