OK show, but for the leg finale, waaay to short. You could tell the band wanted to get it over with because of the heat. Also, dont ever start a show @ Gorge before 830pm in June/July, the sun blinded me for the first hour behind the stage.

Ha! If you did the 2 gorge shows I can gurantee you wouldn't be disappointed.

I thought night 2 was awesome! The sound was much better on the lawn and they seemed to rock it.

Just got back a little while ago from Ellensburg, and I for one couldn't be happier last night's show. Sure, it coulda used something like "Hard to Imagine" or "Alone", but overall it was a great setlist. The "new" Garden, Spin the Black Circle (one my faves from Vitalogy) and Fuckin Up were definite highlights for me.. And believe it or not, one of my most memorable moments from the show (aside from fuckin Eddie climbing the goddamn roof for Given to Fly, RIGHT next to where we were in section was "Jeremy"... Yes kiddies, I said "Jeremy". Even though we've all heard the song a million and one times, and it's actually one of my least-listened-to songs from Ten for just that reason, hearing it live and being there in the crowd and feeling the energy from the crowd just sent goosebumps down my fucking spine. In-fucking-credible.. It was cool hearing Rats live, even though it's probably one of my least fave songs off Vitalogy, and In Hiding with Green Disease back to back was pretty sweet..
And to echo what others have said, sure it would have nice to have a 3 hour set like they did on night 1, but VERY understandable if they were wiped out from the heat- I'll still take a 2 1/2 hour set anyday. Me and the wife bailed right after SSB, knowing the show was over, but yeah, it was weird seeing 90% of the crowd sticking around, waiting for more tunes, even though they were tearing shit down already.. It was just uncomfortably hot the whole show, even when the sun went down (although THAT was the best part of the show ). Blazin balls out there all day- got parked about 1:30/2:00, put up the EZ-up (thanks to my wife for buying that at Fred Meyer on Thursday-best $100 we ever spent), guzzled a bottle of water, then started on the beers, all the while cranking the SD and Pittsburgh boots outta my truck stereo. Even in the shade it was bakin', but at least it was somewhat bearable.. After the show we didn't even stick around to party, I just wanted to get the hell back to Ellensburg so I could take a fuckin shower and get some sleep... Overall, a great time... Let's just hope next time they're at the Gorge it's closer to Sept like last year..

look I can see why it wasnt the best the heat was just insane I would not camp out to see anyone but Zeppelin and PJ in this sort of heat let alone work in this weather. Crazy shit did people pass out cause my mate almost did towards the end.

I had issues withthe amount of posters being released at the gorge almost impossible to get one.

Anyway tonight wasn't as good yesterdays show was worthy of a LATG style release later this year which would be amazing... It was more 10c friendly with In Hiding, Green Disease, Rats, Satan's Bed, Gods' Dice and Garden. But the encore with ed standing on the roof top for GTF (LK on night 1) was sensational!!! He just popped up out of nowhere. STBC was a nice surprise and the full version of Little Wing was just great 2 see complete with ed on vocals.

So that is my mini US tour done and dusted. All shows were good in their own way but the gorge weekend was something else. The heat got to everyone thankgod its over (meaning the camping part of it). Thanks to everyone who has helped me over the padt 2 weeks at the forum, SB Bowl and noe Gorge Amp...

7/23 was better & worse for us. We came at around two and were prepared with a styro cooler full of ice and water to share, but pretty much everyone had brought enough water for themselves the second day so we just hydrated us. Clear skies and a breeze! A lovely change from the previous day when we sweated buckets and neither of us peed for 18 hours.
It was great to see the guy from New Zealand, the guy from New York, and many other newly familiar faces again.
We met up with Clint from Ontario again by the concessions and visited for a couple of hours. What a great guy! He drove 40 hours with no ticket in hand to see the show.
When we took our seats finally we had more familiar faces and I had a great time visiting with the two older ladies staying in Ellensberg. Maybe we will meet up in Cambodia some day.
Our seats in section A sort of sucked because there's an arc to the floor and we were tipped to the left. It was okay until a guy ad his girlfriend showed up two songs in, and he needed to stand with his elbows straight out to hold his beers. DH and I were smashed sideways and front to back with me on one leg so this guy could hold his beer. Plus the man in front of me was wearing a cowboy hat, so I literally couldn't see the stage. Right before Betterman we left. It was soo worth it.
We left the floor area and started meandering the walk between GA and the floor. We were stopped by the astonishing, amazing and indescribable sound of 20,000 people softly singing:
waiting...watching the clock its four oclock, it's got to stop - tell her... take no more she practices her speech as he opens the door she rolls over pretends to sleep as he looks her over..
When you aren't IN the crowd it sounds totally different and utterly beautiful. To be completely enveloped in that quiet, powerful sound. I was stunned and did a 360 in place to take it all in. Beautiful. Beautiful.
Urged by security (repeatedly) we found a place on the terrace to take it in.
We sat up from where Ed made the dash to the roof of the sound board and managed to catch a pic of him pretty close up.
For the rest of the show we walked all over the place and met some more cool people and enjoyed the show from multiple angles.
I'd have to say I loved the first night best, but it's the people we share space with that make or break a show sometimes. So to all of you thank you. To the lady who wept during "Once" - you were beautiful, and the skinny little couple who held eachother so tightly during black - in that heat! You reminded me of so much, thank you. The guy in front of me in the Ament Jersey who I swear could spring 2 feet in the air with every beat: you messed with my view but I was happy to see somebody having such a great time! To all of the people who held out hands of support as I shakily made it across the row of seats (I'd been standing on one leg a loooong time), thank you. Hope to see so many of you again!

night two was just as FUCKING GREAT as the first night.....so they didn't play longer...the set was FUCKING AWESOME, the ENERGY LEVEL was great for the heat they had to play in......the fellow 10 CLUBERS were AWESOME....everybody was having issues with the heat... PEARL JAM gave us two great shows....
