I know. As much as I want a poster and a few other things I just can't do it.
Totally agree.  I'd like a poster but my time is worth more than standing in line in the hot sun for three hours.

Got there at 2 pm, it took me 2:30 hours. The 2 t-shirts and the poster I wanted to buy were sold out.... people were buying like 20 posters each. I wish they would limit the qty.
It is total nonsense that they don't limit the quantities. I would love to know why in the world they aren't bothering to.
Uh, they are limiting the quantities
Not according to several people who saw people buy huge amounts of each item. If they intended to limit the quantities, at least some of the people working the tents aren't bothering to do so from what I'm reading. Maybe some oversight is in order.
The limits are on each specific item. If there are 18 different style shirts they are allowed 36 shirts and so and and so on. I think an overall limit is needed or a quick line.
Ahh, I see, thanks for the clarity .... Well then yes, an overall limit is definitely in order. Anyone buying 36 shirts or 20 posters is obviously just in business on ebay.

I'm glad I went on Monday after work, I arrived at 3:50 and was out the door by 4:30. Hopefully Missoula won't be so crazy.

I'm going to Chicago with my wife.  No way in fuck do I have any urge to stand in a line in the sun for 4 hours (or even 2).

I was encouraged that early on, the late hours had no line, I figured I can show up and just grab a couple leftovers.... but it seems that is out the window

We made the mistake of standing in line at Wrigley in 2013.  I was so knackered from the sun that I barely enjoyed the show that night.

It seems late in Day 1 or Day 2 is the sweet spot for these things. One surge of locals right away then a second surge once the out-of-towners arrive.
I don't think there is a sweet spot for waiting in line for merch for hours.
Sweet spots are there, but it is all just luck when they happen and you can't really plan for them.

We went day one, but after the Blue Jays/Mariners game.  Saw the pics of how full the line was outside the tent and dreaded the wait walking over after the game.  We got there with the line barely longer than the first turn outside the tent.  We got in the tent within 15 minutes and then it was another 45 minutes to get to our turn.  It seemed a lot of people in line were Canadians not even staying for the shows, so they were pretty quick with their choices.  A few people buying a lot of stuff and making merch attendants grab one thing at a time is what really slowed things down.

Not sure how this translates to the other shows for when you should show up to the merch tent.  It would be helpful to know what you want.  Maybe have a list made up (written or on your phone with sizes included) if you are buying a lot of stuff and give it to the merch attendant.  If you want to be really helpful and less wasteful then use a list app (like AnyList) that lets the attendant mark stuff off the list as they go.  Let them grab everything you need in one trip to speed up the process.

Its so f'n stupid, why would they have it so all the desirable stuff is sold out before they even play the first show. I know they supposedly restock but theres less and less each day. I mean the Sasquatch is already sold out and klausen is pretty close if its not already.

They will restock again today a couple of times. Just luck of the draw if you are in line at the right time.

Based on reports for these shows and what I experienced at Fenway in '16, those are the best windows and haven't been a multiple hours wait.

I remember Wrigley '16...thinking that once we reached the tent we would be in the direct lines and then finding out that there were winding lines in the tent as well.

    That hurt

Well, I wouldn't be caught dead in such a line up, but I'm looking for a set of coasters, in case anyone more patient than I manages to snag a set and is feeling generous enough to sell it and mail it to me. ;) (I am not even in Seattle btw, so am not asking someone else to stand in line for me when I could do it myself, lol)

I am going Friday and plan on going into Safeco fairly early (like 5ish). If there are any I will send them your way. I am actually driving back to Vancouver after the show to catch a 6:00am flight so I can drop it off in a mailbox on our side of the border.

especially when you settle behind a t-shirt size sampler
