i hadn't really given it much thought at the time, but there has to be something to it. i'm not necessarily saying that the whole band will perform with him, but there would be no other reason to call it that without something up their sleeves.

Yeah, I am in the same boat. At first, I thought nothing of it. We'll see.
If it is some sort of surprise, and that is a big if, you think we'd find out about it on April 1st, or at the shows themselves?San Diego 10/25/00, Mountain View 6/1/03, Santa Barbara 10/28/03, Northwest School 3/18/05, San Diego 7/7/06, Los Angeles 7/9/06, 7/10/06, Honolulu (U2) 12/9/06, Santa Barbara (EV) 4/10/08, Los Angeles (EV) 4/12/08, Hartford 6/27/08, Mansfield 6/28/08, VH1 Rock Honors The Who 7/12/08, Seattle 9/21/09, Universal City 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, San Diego 10/9/09, Los Angeles (EV) 7/8/11, Santa Barbara (EV) 7/9/11, Chicago 7/19/13, San Diego 11/21/13, Los Angeles 11/23/13, 11/24/13, Oakland 11/26/13, Chicago 8/22/16, Missoula 8/13/18, Boston 9/2/18, Los Angeles 2/25/22 (EV), San Diego 5/3/22, Los Angeles 5/6/22, 5/7/22, Imola 6/25/22, Los Angeles 5/21/24, Boston 9/15/24, Ohanafest 2025 (EV)0 -

whatever it is--if anything--i dont think there will be an announcement and we'll find out about on the board during or right after the vancouver show."and onward goes this thing of ours."

I guess the secret will be out after the first show.Take time to see the sky,
Find shapes in the clouds.
Hear the murmur of the wind
and touch the cool water.

i feel what you're saying. i'm excited to see ed play, just because it is such a rare treat in itself.
can't help but wonder though...the fact that it's called the 'april fool's tour', the first is left open (i'm still finding it hard to believe *nothing* is going to happen in seattle), that there are 10 dates, just like how there are 10 east coast dates. that 10c tickets were offered even though they never did that for other band members when they've done independent stuff, like brad or the rockfords. that the price is comparable to a full PJ show price...random seating just how there's the random thing going on with the east coast shows....
all i know is i've become a full blown conspiracy theorist
lol
i figure all will be revealed on the 2nd (or 1st), and if it was the whole band showing up in vancouver i'm sure we'll hear about it from someone spotting them (like they're bigfoot lol) or some inside scoop at the venue.
that said, no matter what, seeing liam and ed....makes me a happy girl

oh now...they said april fools tour. they have got to have something up their sleeves.
if anything. he might have a couple of guests here and there. maybe the whole band for a song or two.
if it ends up being a pearl jam show, rather than an ed show, that's not what the tickets are for. dates and times can change without notice, but i don't think that they can change the act.My whole life looked like a picture of a sunny day.

but eddie can hire and pay jeff ament, mike mccready, stone gossard, and matt cameron to be his backing band for an encore or two. it would be an eddie vedder show with a very talented backing band."and onward goes this thing of ours."

Exactly. And who is to say that Ed can't knock out his solo songs in an acoustic set and come back out for the rest of the show with "his band"?
I think it would be pretty awesome because you'd get Ed solo AND a PJ show rolled into one. Dude that would be awesome. I'd shit my pants a little if that happened.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -
I'm pretty sure the trick was the addition of second shows 15 minutes after tickets went on sale.0

My dream would be for it to be an Ed solo "show" with a Pearl Jam encore.
Maybe Ed could play for an hour or so and the rest of the band could join him for the next hour and a half.
This would be awesome for a variety of reasons, most importantly:
a) we'd get to see Ed solo and hear ITW tracks, which I'm REALLY looking forward to;
b) we'd get to see Pearl Jam in VERY small venues.
Although I'm not getting my hopes up for anything except an Ed solo show, this scenario would seem to be pretty feasible because:
a) technically, it WOULD be an Ed solo show, so nobody could say they got something other than what they paid for (not that anybody would anyway, but you know, a business always has to think about legal issues...tsk tsk);
b) I don't know if Ed by himself could put on a full 2+ hour show, especially when he's performing at some venues on consecutive nights and doesn't seem to be the type to play an unchanging setlist;
c) it would give the guys a chance to warm up for the East Coast dates;
d) it would justify the $65+ price tag;
e) it really is the only way that Pearl Jam could play smaller venues without having a massive amount of fans pissed off about the ticketing process; fool 'em into thinking it's Eddie solo and fans won't be as likely to travel across the country (or world) to try to see him, but call it a Pearl Jam show at a tiny venue and be prepared for an onslaught when 90% of the people trying to go aren't able to get tickets.

good point. no way they could announce smaller venue shows without it turning into a bloodbath for fans fighting for tickets. and locals would be more likely to get shut out as a result. as it stands, it seems a lot of folks going to these shows are local (at least that i can tell anyway!)walkunafraid wrote:e) it really is the only way that Pearl Jam could play smaller venues without having a massive amount of fans pissed off about the ticketing process; fool 'em into thinking it's Eddie solo and fans won't be as likely to travel across the country (or world) to try to see him, but call it a Pearl Jam show at a tiny venue and be prepared for an onslaught when 90% of the people trying to go aren't able to get tickets.
i'm happy to see ed for two hours, the idea of having the best of both worlds is fun to think about though
