the april fools thing

i hadn't really given it much thought at the time, but there has to be something to it. i'm not necessarily saying that the whole band will perform with him, but there would be no other reason to call it that without something up their sleeves.

Yeah, I am in the same boat. At first, I thought nothing of it. We'll see.
If it is some sort of surprise, and that is a big if, you think we'd find out about it on April 1st, or at the shows themselves?
whatever it is--if anything--i dont think there will be an announcement and we'll find out about on the board during or right after the vancouver show.

an inside source tells me.............................................
it's RANDY NEWMAN. with his piano.
APRIL FOOLS.
singing his own songs or eddie vedder songs?

can't help but wonder though...the fact that it's called the 'april fool's tour', the first is left open (i'm still finding it hard to believe *nothing* is going to happen in seattle), that there are 10 dates, just like how there are 10 east coast dates. that 10c tickets were offered even though they never did that for other band members when they've done independent stuff, like brad or the rockfords. that the price is comparable to a full PJ show price...random seating just how there's the random thing going on with the east coast shows....
all i know is i've become a full blown conspiracy theorist lol
i figure all will be revealed on the 2nd (or 1st), and if it was the whole band showing up in vancouver i'm sure we'll hear about it from someone spotting them (like they're bigfoot lol) or some inside scoop at the venue.
that said, no matter what, seeing liam and ed....makes me a happy girl
oh now...they said april fools tour. they have got to have something up their sleeves.
if anything. he might have a couple of guests here and there. maybe the whole band for a song or two.
if it ends up being a pearl jam show, rather than an ed show, that's not what the tickets are for. dates and times can change without notice, but i don't think that they can change the act.
Summerfest 95, 06 Alpine 92, 98, 00, 03 Chicago 95, 98, 00, 03, 06, 07 Grand Rapids 04, St. John's 05 Milwaukee 08
but eddie can hire and pay jeff ament, mike mccready, stone gossard, and matt cameron to be his backing band for an encore or two. it would be an eddie vedder show with a very talented backing band.

Exactly. And who is to say that Ed can't knock out his solo songs in an acoustic set and come back out for the rest of the show with "his band"?
I think it would be pretty awesome because you'd get Ed solo AND a PJ show rolled into one. That is what I am hoping for, personally.
Dude that would be awesome. I'd shit my pants a little if that happened.
rollover dates happen all the time. how would that be a "trick?"

oh, funny. :rolleyes:

Maybe Ed could play for an hour or so and the rest of the band could join him for the next hour and a half.
This would be awesome for a variety of reasons, most importantly:
a) we'd get to see Ed solo and hear ITW tracks, which I'm REALLY looking forward to;
b) we'd get to see Pearl Jam in VERY small venues.
Although I'm not getting my hopes up for anything except an Ed solo show, this scenario would seem to be pretty feasible because:
a) technically, it WOULD be an Ed solo show, so nobody could say they got something other than what they paid for (not that anybody would anyway, but you know, a business always has to think about legal issues...tsk tsk);
b) I don't know if Ed by himself could put on a full 2+ hour show, especially when he's performing at some venues on consecutive nights and doesn't seem to be the type to play an unchanging setlist;
c) it would give the guys a chance to warm up for the East Coast dates;
d) it would justify the $65+ price tag;
e) it really is the only way that Pearl Jam could play smaller venues without having a massive amount of fans pissed off about the ticketing process; fool 'em into thinking it's Eddie solo and fans won't be as likely to travel across the country (or world) to try to see him, but call it a Pearl Jam show at a tiny venue and be prepared for an onslaught when 90% of the people trying to go aren't able to get tickets.
Those are my thoughts anyway.

i'm happy to see ed for two hours, the idea of having the best of both worlds is fun to think about though
i'm flying out from ny for the berkley shows. i'm meeting up with someone else that's coming out from ny and the guy that's selling me his extra for night 2 is coming in from australia.

I think there is more people traveling to the Ed shows than you think. I am coming from Texas.
What if the April Fools thing is a make up from last years Bridge School. Ed with Jack Irons and Flea. No I don't think this is really it but would be awsome!!!
i would love that!
Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri
obviously there are going to be some/many out-of-towners wanting to see Ed's shows (including you).
however, would you agree that the overall demand for a PJ-show in a small venue would be much greater than an Eddie-solo-show in a small venue?

I completly agree. I think people would go nuts trying to
get tickets for shows like that. Look what happened at the Vic.
Sorry....I really wasnt trying to argue. Just saying there will be some tourtist
it's gonna be good no matter what happens, that is guaranteed
