Where is everyone staying for the Seattle Home Shows?

I am way up by the Space Needle. Prices were crazy and we didn’t decide to go until the last day of the lottery, so most everything was sold out.
how bad is the walk going to suck that late at night?"If she don't love me no more, i know her sister will" Jimi Hendrix0 -
Yeah, the prices were unbelievable, but we managed to make reservations in January for a nice rate. I was also thinking about walking back, but have never been to Seattle before. Don't know if it's a good idea or not..moemoe6434 said:I am way up by the Space Needle. Try living here. You'd be surprised at how many apartments and houses do NOT have a/c. I had to buy window units because we actually do get some really hot temperatures contrary to what some might think.intodeep said:

I couldn't find much else in town that compared. It was about $868 USD for 3 nights (After the tack on fee and taxes). There were a number of cheaper alternatives but they all lacked A/C and had poor reviews. If it were the winter I'd consider staying at the Moore, but the lack of AC makes it a sweatbox in the summer.Forever feeling the sting of Raleigh 20160 -
That's a really long hike, so you'd be better off taking an Uber or a taxi. It won't cost much, and it's much better than that length of walking distance.moemoe6434 said:I am way up by the Space Needle. The summers have been getting longer/hotter. When I was a kid we were lucky to get a week or two of truly hot temperatures in the summer. Now it goes on for months... Alot of the older hotels/buildings were probably made when hot temp's were less frequent. It might be really hot at the Seattle shows. First two weeks of August are usually the hottest weeks of the year here (well I live 80 miles northwest of Seattle, but the climate is pretty much the same).0 -
I'm staying at a friend's place in West Seattle. Planning to take transit to/from."Your light's reflected now, reflected from afar. We were but stones, your light made us stars."0

Yeah, I think you're right. The climate has definitely changed a lot over the years, and it seems like the hot streaks are longer and more frequent. I know all of this week it's supposed to be in the mid to upper 80s, so we might see the same pattern the following week of the shows. I remember the first week of August last year was extremely hot, highs in the low and mid 90s. I went to a few outdoor concerts that week and it was a scorcher. Hoping it won't be quite that hot for the home shows, but I guess we'll have to take whatever we get.Zod said:ZeldaZonk said:

"Watch out for music. It should come with a health warning. It can be dangerous. It can make you feel so alive, so connected to the people around you, and connected to what you really are inside. Same here. Might try to find a less expensive AirBnB beteeen now and the 8th. You are correct, however. The location is solid and likely worth with extra $$$$.deek74 said:Executive Hotel Pacific. Since I am doing this trek solo, it was hard to justify spending that much money on a hotel I would barely be in. So for a little adventure, I am staying at the Temple Hondo on my first night and then the Green Tortoise hostel for the rest of the week. Pretty easy to say that I have low expectations as far as accommodations. Think the Temple will be a neat experience.0
