Where is everyone staying for the Seattle Home Shows?

I'm staying at the Maxwell. Looks pretty close to a lot of fun things to do and see. This is my first time traveling alone, so it will be a little adventure for me. Can't wait! Where is everyone else staying?

Hotel Five (StayPineapple).  It was pretty expense and tricked me because they added in extra fee's after I pricelined it.  I couldn't find much else in town that compared.  It was about $868 USD for 3 nights (After the tack on fee and taxes).    There were a number of cheaper alternatives but they all lacked A/C and had poor reviews.   If it were the winter I'd consider staying at the Moore, but the lack of AC makes it a sweatbox in the summer.

AirBNB down towards the airport. Right off the Link, so it shouldn't be too bad getting in and out of the city. I had booked at the Silver Cloud, but I'd rather stay a bit lot cheaper and use that money for other things.

I was surprised by the lack of AC in many places as well.

I'm traveling all the way from Brazil and was able to find a hotel right across the street from the Seattle Center. Looking at the Seattle city map, I think I won't find much trouble going to Safeco and back, right? Is anybody else staying around the Queen Anne neighborhood?

I think that's what made me become a musician - that feeling you get. Especially, if you are with a group of people who are in the same zone, and heading towards that same place in the song. I think you share an intimacy in those situations that you can only compare to sharing intimacy with a lover. I think it's the same place. It's a feeling that I crave for sure. " Jeff Ament

I am way up by the Space Needle.  Prices were crazy and we didn’t decide to go until the last day of the lottery, so most everything was sold out.

how bad is the walk going to suck that late at night?

Yeah, the prices were unbelievable, but we managed to make reservations in January for a nice rate. I was also thinking about walking back, but have never been to Seattle before. Don't know if it's a good idea or not..

Try living here. You'd be surprised at how many apartments and houses do NOT have a/c. I had to buy window units because we actually do get some really hot temperatures contrary to what some might think.

That's a really long hike, so you'd be better off taking an Uber or a taxi. It won't cost much, and it's much better than that length of walking distance.

    Definitely not walking distance.

I think part of it is the changing climate here.  The summers have been getting longer/hotter.   When I was a kid we were lucky to get a week or two of truly hot temperatures in the summer.   Now it goes on for months...  Alot of the older hotels/buildings were probably made when hot temp's were less frequent.

It might be really hot at the Seattle shows.  First two weeks of August are usually the hottest weeks of the year here (well I live 80 miles northwest of Seattle, but the climate is pretty much the same).

Yeah, I think you're right. The climate has definitely changed a lot over the years, and it seems like the hot streaks are longer and more frequent. I know all of this week it's supposed to be in the mid to upper 80s, so we might see the same pattern the following week of the shows. I remember the first week of August last year was extremely hot, highs in the low and mid 90s. I went to a few outdoor concerts that week and it was a scorcher. Hoping it won't be quite that hot for the home shows, but I guess we'll have to take whatever we get.
