    Greensky Bluegrass

The dudes are all I listen to as of late. Great vibe to them. I know they've been around for 15+ years or so, but these dudes are just so fucking amazing.

    Fangclub.
A new grunge influenced band from Ireland that released their debut record last year. Check it out if you're in the mood for something that sounds more like Nirvana. They've only been around for a few years, maybe since 2014. I saw them open for the Pixies last year, was very impressed.

I saw another Irish band, the Coronas (more pop than grunge for sure) and their manager told me about Fangclub.  Happy to see them mentioned here, reminds me to look their music up.

I just discovered I Am the Mountain. They're a fairly new Canadian band, based out of Calgary, with 2 EPs so far. I'm really loving them! They describe their music as "campfire soul music". There are also clear jazz influences. Here is their Spotify page: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3vWSTTTiw2Y8UrcAnJhlb4?si=yGqESGAUQWqZfNzywIkGlQ

I'll shamelessly plug Chris Whitley. He died way too soon of lung cancer back in 2005. He opened for Tom Petty in 1991 and played on David Letterman twice. He's a mix of Delta Blues/Grunge/Electronic. CW blends those influences in a natural and amazing way. Please check him out!

I just discovered Beth Rowley. She's quite amazing IMHO, which is really nice, because I have to admit my personal music catalogue seriously lacks female artists; it almost makes me feel like some kind of music sexist, lol. I feel pretty stoked when I find one that really piques my interest.

She's just released this super good album called Gota Fria:

I’ve just got into The Sidekicks the last few months. Reminds me of early 90’s “light” alternative. This is their new album

Not sure if by "new" you meant a recent band (2016-2018?), or that you meant a band that's "new to your ears" (unheard or undiscovered until now). There are many I can suggest in the latter category:

    Courtney Barnett - "Avant Gardener"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcnIhzaDTd0

Jim O'Rourke - "All Downhill From Here"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahWetlj4F7g

Radio Moscow - "Rancho Tehama Airport"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8dzqafApaE

Sweet Apple - "Do You Remember"

I Blame Coco - "Self Machine"

I don't think the OP has ever answered the question about whether or not we should be posting actual new bands or just bands that are new to us and will likely be new to others. But I'll just assume it's the latter.

I just discovered the album Cyborgs Revisited by Simply Saucer, a Canadian punk band from the 70s. It's an awesome album - apparently renowned. The album was actually compiled in '89, but the music itself was made in the 70s.

What thread did you create? - never mind, found it... To be fair, the lack of responses could just be about people not loving the music.;) I'm listening to it now though. First song is pretty good... it reminds me of someone though. Some other artist or band... Can't quite put my finger on it.... Oh, I know! They sound kind of like Coldplay.

The Struts are a great new-ish band....they will release their 2nd album later in the year.  They have been opening for the Foo Fighters this year.

black pistol fire...amazing live two-man band
    Second this! Great stuff.

Here are a few other bands I've been into lately:

Wolf Alice - British alt rock band. Cannot recommend enough! I'm sure I am not the first to mention them here...
Shame - British Post-Punk. Great first album released this year.
Kevin Morby - Maybe the best songwriter we have right now. Also a very talented guitarist with a great backing band.
Lord Huron - Atmospheric rock with some solid alternative songs. Good listening if you like being outdoors.
First Aid Kit - Swedish folk duo. They are getting exponentially better by touring constantly. And they rock out live.
Chicano Batman - These guys spread a few genres, definitely a departure from my usual listening. World/soul/psychadelic/???
Post Animal - Psychadelic. Described to me once as a mix of tame impala and black sabbath.

Thats an interesting comparison. I guess I can hear it on some songs. Good, bad or otherwise I figured more people might give them a shot and say what they thought

I've just discovered Moses Sumney, who is a pretty new artist - some really good modern soul/R&B.
