    This is true - I see it everyday on social media, and it worries me. Now Ontario is even gearing up to elect Rob Ford's F'n brother (Rob Ford reincarnated, basically - a total populist who will win because the voters think he sucks, but that the other nominees suck more. Sound familiar?) The only solace I have is that social media is likely not as representative as one is tempted to think.... These people are still just a vocal minority I think .... But it's getting worse, and these kinds of things tend to snowball. The problem really seems to be like a pendulum that keeps swinging too high in each direction. Each time people vote now, they attempt to correct any slide that goes just a bit too far away from their perspective on some issues by turning to an extreme opposite. It doesn't work, obviously. It's like putting out the fire by flooding the town.

    so do I. it's hard to gauge properly, as I wasn't on twitter pre-trump, but I was on facebook, and besides the odd "screw your happy holidays, we say merry christmas!" posts, that was about it. now it's all out fucking war on immigrants and minorities and our "terrorist hugging PM". it's mind boggling.

    Most Americans are not paying attention to this stuff on a daily basis. We have a tendency to think everyone is glued to cable news all the time but they're not. When the investigation ends and the hammer drops though? That will get everyone's attention...
