You'd be dilusional to think that there IS good pizza there...rgambs said:Only a brain-dead NYPS could possibly think there's no good pizza in Vegas.
Unless they bring in NY water it won't be as good.

If there's one ingredient that has the most effect on food, it has to be the water, and everyone knows that water is one of the most important ingredients in a pizza...Add to that, New York has famously good tap water!
Hahahaha!! Good stuff!
This reminds me, I read an article a few years ago about how New Yorkers think they have amazing water.
They don't lol
Any way you test it, from lab to blind taste test, it doesn't stack up half as well as they delude themselves into believing. I think if there's anything special about New York water, it must be that it causes mass delusions of grandeur lolMonkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -

Never claimed NY water to be superior. Hell when I lived in the queens and there was a fire we would have rust in the toilet from the FD using the hydrants.rgambs said:I can't find the original article that had links to the studies, damnit.

So NYers all have good ingredients and the rest of the US doesn't? That doesn't make any sense...rgambs said:
In all the places I've been to in the states I had found 2 places that made decent pizzas and Chicago isn't one of them.
I've never had a good bagel outside of the NY/NJ area. Not sure why that is either...0 -
No, that isn't the reason, it isn't ingredients, it's recipe. That and perception.tempo_n_groove said:

That's the only reason.
Expectations have been shown to have a profound effect on taste, people in New York are raised to believe all sorts of superiorities so it isn't surprising.
What is surprising to me is that someone could be so deeply indoctrinated into that NY superiority that they can override every bit of rational thought and logic and actually believe their geographic location is the only one capable of making a decent pizza. That's bonkers, it defies all logic.
Most bagels ARE shit, but that isn't because of where they are made, it's because of how they are made.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -

Some of you people must have great metabolisms or incredible workout routines to eat that much pizza...I'm envious...I could eat pizza everyday...but I'd weigh 300+ if I did.Give Peas A Chance…0

It was at the Wynn hotel at some nightclub called Tryst. Probably not around anymore, but what a joke. I almost told her to take them back. Lol.mcgruff10 said:

Beef Wellington!? Wow. That’s some damn good stuff right there! To your point about prices, I’ll never forget ordering 3 tequila shots in Vegas and being told I owe $75. And that was in 2007. LolThirty Bills Unpaid said:Never minds, folks.
Brooklyn Bowl for fried chicken today. Had Hells Kitchen (beef Wellington) yesterday. Really good.
Expensive, but everything here is. We had a plate of nachos and a margarita each that cost us 70 on a patio on Thursday night.0 -

New Jersey, Philly area, New Haven, Connecticut, New York, Chicago and of course Italy (although Liechenstien had a kick ass gorgonzola pizza). Boston was good but not great compared to the others.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -

Oklahoma, don't eat the pizza.
Florida, don't eat the pizza.
Should I go on?
Went to a place in Iowa that was ok. It's not NY pizza though.
When my family visits from out of state this is what they want from here, Pizza, a Nathans Hotdog, a bagel or roll in the morning and a Devil Dog for desert.
When I travel outside of NY I'm not looking for any of these things...0 -
Only two good pizzas outside of NY and not a sigle bagel? Give me a damn break. Even I’m not that negative.tempo_n_groove said:

Hahaha nope, no deeply personal reason just grinds my gears. I actually havehave a pretty high tolerance for arrogance, but New York City stretches it beyond its limits.mcgruff10 said:

Holy shit. You’re one well traveled man! That’s very cool. I’ve had NY pizza and definitely liked it. Pizza in Italy would be unreal. I’ll proba try some in Boston when I go in September but from what I’m hearing it’s nothing to get too excited for.mcgruff10 said:

When my family comes in from CA it’s the same exact thing. Lou Malnatis for pizza and Portillos for beefs/dogs. And Garrett’s popcorn.tempo_n_groove said:

Regarding New York Pizza the annoyances less about claims of quality and more about claiming to have the definitive say to which styles pizza aer acceptable.
Millions upon millions of people love Chicago deep dish style pizza, but they are all wrong because some New Yorkers say so?
Nope, sorry, thats bullshit.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -
You’re not lying about BBQ in that area. Went to Nashville in September and that BBQ was on a different level. No joke, this place called Martins had 2 lines out the front door about half a city block in each direction. Just to get take out BBQmcgruff10 said:
