Hey smelly, do you ever have any insightful thoughts of your own to add to the conversation? Do you ever stick to any of the topics? Or do you just comment on the commenters?
Your day must be real fun, go into several of the different threads, find some low-hanging fruit take a personal cheap shot and leave.  That a boy!
you said it not me.  LOL

Arguing with somebody who gets news from right wing talk shows is pointless.

You pointed out where you get your 'news'.  I was on point with the topic.

The cognitive dissonance it takes to hate everything about Obama and love Trump, especially as a so called Christian, is asinine to me.

Every fiber in Obama's being is a better man than Trump.  Trump has not a shred decency in his body.  He fails as a human being imo as does most of the world.  So by association his supporters fail as human beings too.

You could be fooled at the election even though there was mountains of evidence, but at this point it is willful ignorance to still support him.
Yeah it's amazing how many people still use the "Obama tried to divide us" mantra.  Fucking ridiculous.

I was curious about what he has been on a roll about lately so I sought out his advisers and found this.

    Is this what you mean?

I've been through this with Mr Ryme before. He does not watch or read any news despite sharing the same talking points that appear on Fox and Friends every morning.

It is an uncanny coincidence... the likes of which the world has never seen.

What he has been doing is what I like.
Those things on that list I think are great.
talking points.  You take what you hear and spout what you think you know.
So you spew out leftie talking points, & I spew out righty talking points.  Ok.
Mr. Facetious. . You get all your s*** from CNN and MSNBC and ABC NBC PBS BBC
. It's an uncanny coincidence that all you talk about is spewed out on all those major networks everyday but but I know you came up with all your opinions on your own by coincidence.  And everything you say is original thought.  Yeppers!
I start my day at 2 a.m. Fox & Friends is not on when I'm home.
But I do listen to a lot of News Talk Radio.

You like that list? That list was put together for one audience, Donald Trump.

"Rising approval numbers" is NOT an "accomplishment." They're actually lower than any other elected president not named Jimmy Carter.

Two judges "rebuking Mueller's investigation" is also not an accomplishment. The one today actually ruled in favor of Mueller anyway. I don't think Trump or Fox and Friends or Hannity or Rush on the radio will tell that to you though.

Two of the prisoners were taken while Trump was in office anyway.

And the economy was great prior to Trump coming into office. He literally inherited a great economy and then just took all the credit for it.

You put the fucking list up.  I don't care what's on Fox's list.
I like what he's been doing.  I'm extatic.
I didn't make the fox & friends list.
Even if you like some of what's happening, you can't admit it because it's happening under Trump.
You like Kim Jong un better than  you like Trump.  Kim Jong un has a higher approval rating in your book than Trump.  You don't want any of these good things that might happen to happen, even if it means a safer world.  You want it all to fail so that you can say that Trump can't do shit & he's a bafoon.
I think that he's proving that people with your mindsets are the bafoons, & he's not.

    What?

You said the things on the list of "accomplishments" are great. I pointed out that the list of accomplishments, posted by Fox and Friends, are not really accomplishments.

    I think you're confused.

    Eesh.

So if I get the point here... it's that... I'm a buffoon?

Gawddamit. That's the last thing I wanted to be.
If you want good things to fail, just because, because you hate Trump, then??? maybe.  But I don't know what you want.
I wasn't a big Obama fan.  But when Obama gave the go-ahead to take out Bin Laden, because they knew where he was,, I said great!!  Spike that football all you want Obama more power to ya!!  There used to be a time in America, when Republicans & Democrats differed on social issues, big government small government taxes, & social programs mainly.
On the world stage we used to be pretty much United. R&D, Those days are apparently over.
But patriotically and on foreign affairs, we used to bepretty much in the same boat,& on the same team.
But that has drastically changed for some reason.
What I mean is the two parties used to get along on some things but not other things.  Nowadays there's no way.  It's All or Nothing.  And anybody who gives the other side a little bit of credit will be punished by their own group it's ridiculous.
    Good night.
.... So what is your opinion about the way Trump wants good things to fail if they have any connection to Obama? I don't think there has been a single thing posted here that suggests anyone wants good things to fail just because "Trump", but your beloved President has been proven time and time again to do the exact thing you're criticizing in this post. How do you justify that in your own head?
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

Former Congressman Joe Walsh has a good Show too out of Chicago.

Fair enough.  The people I listen to do not fawn over Trump 24/7.  I don't listen to Rush or Hannity because that's all they do.
Give those other guys a shot, see what you think of them.  Pick one and listen to them for a week so you can have an honest assessment.  Joe Walsh I listen to the least mainly because he shouts into the microphone all day, stutters a lot, and says the same s*** over and over and over again.  Talks like at Chicagoan.  I said good, he's interesting for about 10 minutes once in a while.
But seriously give James T Harris a try.

I get that. It's not a big prob for me, but once in a while I think "my god, I need to step away for a bit - paying this much attention to US politics is making me feel awful." .... But I'm always drawn back in; it's the proverbial train wreck I guess, but also genuine concern for Americans, America, and all of us as well. It affects us all in many ways, and I just can't not pay close attention for very long stretches, even though I would love not to.

we don't have data plans on our phones, so last summer when we were at the cottage for 3 weeks was seriously the biggest stress-drop I had experienced in my entire life. no media, no social media, no tv, nothing. it was amazing. I heard about Chester Bennington from friends. Everyone said "and on Chris Cornell's birthday too". I said "no it isn't, my birthday is the same as Chris's". They all looked at me and said "yeah, it's your fucking birthday today, remember?". that's how relaxed i was. well, and drunk. relaxed and drunk.

it was then that I realized I needed to stop obsessing over everything trump. I'll admit it. I was obsessed. Election night, after it was called, I got fucking loaded i was so upset. Had to call in sick to work the next day. it was ridiculous how it affected me. Full on snowflaked.

I never paid much attention during the Obama years. it seemed like kind of a relaxing time. Came to AMT to see what racist was mad at him today. GWB was obviously fraught with anxiety, mostly due to 9/11 and the aftermath. I think part of it has to do with how the media reports eveyrthing these days. Everything is a fucking catastrophe.

I've learned to take everything in the media with a grain, and not pay too much attention for my own sanity. stopped following any people on twitter that often mention trump.

I'll celebrate if/when he ever gets impeached/resigns/doesn't run again, but hey, then we get Pence to worry about.

to think, one of the big controversies of our federal leader (up until recently) is him saying "peoplekind". the difference is unbelievable.

Lol, I admit I had a mild anxiety attack the night he was elected. I couldn't take the stress, so turned it off early, before the results were in, but then randomly woke up at 1am and checked my phone to see what happened while half asleep.... I was shocked out of my drowsiness pretty fucking quick! I was surprised by how anxious the news made me - I never got back to sleep. :frowning: But honestly, i think both of our reactions were justified!

    I think it is.

There's a definitely liberal bias, but given what the conservatives stand for these days... this is a great thing. There's no room for 'balance' when one side is bordering on obscene (I say 'bordering' because I'm trying to be nice).

About 15 years ago I listened to nothing but music stations.  Finally after hearing Stairway to Heaven for the 999th time, great song but I'd had enough and had to go to a.m. to see what was there.

I find amt to be a good source of info as well as opinions on what’s happening. Not much on the pro trump side, but I also get that in other places and the support for trump all fits consistent themes. I find staying informed as helpful for me emotionally. After getting theough the initial months of anger and disgust, tracking the news lets me know about the pending demise of the trump shit show. I also really like to know how different people process the same facts, and I want to track things as is happens and be able to compare it to how it will be presented 20 or 30 years down the road. This is a major historical timeframe for the US.

ok, I find this to be a strange thing to say. you can't be a trump supporter/applauder unless you've been brainwashed? you really don't think people can honestly like what he's doing without outside influence? I know many intelligent people who have not been brainwashed, are christian, and like trump.

I'm struggling to find the reason why christians are consistently to be held to some higher standard than everyone else. christians are taught that all humans are flawed and are to be forgiven for their earthly sins. but as long as that human appears to be doing god's work (in their eyes), then why WOULDN'T they support him?

Give those other guys a shot, see what you think of them.  Pick one and listen to them for a week so you can have an honest assessment.  Joe Walsh I listen to the least mainly because he shouts into the microphone all day, stutters a lot, and says the same s*** over and over and over again.  Talks like at Chicagoan.  I said good, he's interesting for about 10 minutes once in a while.
But seriously give James T Harris a try.

besides this thread, I try to stay away from american politics as much as I can these days. it was causing me too much anger/stress/anxiety.
    I understand.
But this thread is not the best place to get fair, balanced, and accurate information about American politics.
Nor are your conservative radio talkers....
I listen to a lota of people from a lot of different angles.  The shows I listen to don't even talk politics all day long.
About 15 years ago I listened to nothing but music stations.  Finally after hearing Stairway to Heaven for the 999th time, great song but I'd had enough and had to go to a.m. to see what was there.
Sometimes it's sports I like Dan Patrick's Show, sometimes it's about school referendums whatever.
Everyone has to get the're news and talking points from somewhere.
    Read this.

You know from the headline where the writer is coming from.  The media doesn't even try to hide their biases anymore.  Sure they hope the meeting falls through so that they can say Trump couldn't do it either.
I can't accept this at all. Say it all you want. Nobody has your views without being influenced by biased right wing media, especially not someone who claims to be a Christian.
ok, I find this to be a strange thing to say. you can't be a trump supporter/applauder unless you've been brainwashed? you really don't think people can honestly like what he's doing without outside influence? I know many intelligent people who have not been brainwashed, are christian, and like trump.

I'm struggling to find the reason why christians are consistently to be held to some higher standard than everyone else. christians are taught that all humans are flawed and are to be forgiven for their earthly sins. but as long as that human appears to be doing god's work (in their eyes), then why WOULDN'T they support him?
Because many “Christians” don’t practice what they preach nor conduct themselves as the Bible/Jesus says you should, particularly evangelicals and Team Trump Treason. Throw in the rejection of fact based science and jiminy crinkets, I’m shocked you had to ask.
