    More likely because it would result in the destruction of South Korea and the involvement of another nuclear power, China. The US only bullies nations that can’t put up a fight.

    North Korea has enough firepower to cause hundreds of thousands of casualty's in South Korea within minutes. That's what keeps them out North Korea.

    There surely must be some truth in this.  Empires run on oil! 

    The dirty secret though is that NK is sitting on at least $6 Trillion dollars for of mineral without the technology to extract it.  That's one hot prize but, sadly, it's also one good sized ecosystem that could well get shafted badly.

    Any sitting president would take credit.  And none of the former ones have done much of anything about it for some time.

    I do wonder what all the driving forces are here....it came out of no where it seems with quick progress.  We will likely never know the true motivations, but in the end, it's terrific.

    I think the South Koreans realized that Team Trump Treason is too unstable, wishy washy and an unreliable negotiating partner to rely on and figured they had nothing to lose to go it alone. Team Trump Treason’s America First policy equates to America leads from behind to the rest of the world. If it brings peace and the de-escalating of tensions, great. But the north has done this before and Team Trump Treason is fully capable of fucking everything up. Time will tell.
