    What kind of “crazy shit” are you referring to?  I think that the actual border has needed more personnel for a long time.  Living down here you are constantly reminded of cartels trafficking people across the border or sneaking people in only to leave them in the desert to die.  There has been crazy shit going on at the border for some time now.
    I basically mean this is the kind of shit that precedes major losses in terms of civil rights. Increased militarism like this, especially at borders, combined with all that anti-media retoric/creation of fake news/double-think crap/news anchors reading government-prepared statements across channels, the ramping up of racist propaganda, military parades, presidential political rallies outside of campaigns, protection of corruption combined with extreme nepotism within federal administrations .... historically, all of these things are preludes to the rise of fascism or totalitarianism. Yes, in all of those historical instances, there have been what sound like very rational justifications for such actions like deploying up to 4000 national guard troops to the border and getting the military to pay for this kind of defense infrastructure.
    From what I've learned, militarizing the borders is not exactly what America the Free is supposed to be about. Yep, fear propaganda about illegal immigrants is exactly how to militarize what used to be relatively open borders without tipping the citizens off to a bigger, scarier future picture.
    He’s using the military for his own political gain (though not many outside of his base want this anyway). 

    He even admitted in his twitter that border crossings are at their lowest point in decades. The president is so stupid.

    Unfortunately, I think he's had people doing shit like this for him for years. He just deflects it away so he never has direct contact with them and they know to funnel funds as needed to keep it out of court and the public.
