Found out yesterday that Beck is a lifelong Scientologist!
Yeah, it's a bummer, eh? I found out maybe last year sometime. It took me a while to get over it. I found it very surprising and disappointing. How can someone who is such a genius in one way be such a fucking gullible, brainwashed idiot in another way?

    booooooooooooooooo!!!

fucking weirdo. how the hell do people get caught up in that cult.

He was actually born and raised in the "church" ... Makes it a little more understandable I suppose, compared to someone who converts in adulthood.

What a massive tour Beck's doing. Crazy. Same tour as I saw him on last summer I think! Obviously he took a break in the middle, but still.
... I wish he was doing a repeat in Vancouver - that show was awesome!!

Damn, another one that I'm missing that's high on my list to see. MSG too--don't know if Beck can sell that out, so chances are I could have gotten some cheaper tix. Cool openers this tour, as well. I really dig both Oh Wonder and Glass Animals.

    Saw Beck last summer
    Was bored
    Maybe it's because he's  a scientologist

Really? Wow. The show I saw was great. Maybe he had an off night? Or maybe he's just not really your thing. Pretty sure it's not because he's a Scientologist, lol. Although it was extremely disappointed when I found that out about him. Wtf. He was born into it though... he kind of didn't even have a chance. :frowning:

I saw him three years ago in Houston and I was very disappointed. I prefer his mellow music and his show was centered around his high energy stuff.  He really annoyed me as a performer.  I’d never seen him and my wife and I thought about making a road trip to see him, but then a Houston show was announced 10 minutes from my house.  I remember walking out of the concert very grateful we didn’t put any real effort into going.

Ah. I actually liked his show specifically because he did focus on the high energy stuff more - the place was rocking out, and it was fun. And I thought he was a great performer - he was so very Beck, lol.
I can't fucking believe his age btw. He looks SO young. Maybe the Scientologists actually discovered the fountain of youth and that is why seemingly intelligent people remain with the cult.

saw him last night.  Fun show!  Wish he played a little longer but there was a curfew (he played for like an hour and forty minutes).  Jenny Lewis opened and played for 30 minutes (I think she could have played another song or two but oh well).  She did join Beck for two songs though.

Beck was the original name of the song Beth, KISS most successful single sung by drummer Peter Criss.

You were at the MSG show too!

I've seen Beck play 5 times now and he only plays for an hour and a half every time, maybe a few minutes over like at MSG.

I was happy with the song selection.  One was scrapped from the set list before the show.  Not sure why they removed it though.  I was getting the set list from the sound guy but he gave it to the security guard whom then gave it to the deranged girl fan jumping up and down pouting that she wanted it...  So she got it.  Oh well.

Great show though.  Missed beercans though.  That should always be played at a show.
