I don't know how I feel about it. Part of what I love about MMJ (as well as Pearl Jam) is not knowing what song is coming next. With the anticipation gone, I don't know how it would feel to be at a full album show. Plus, once you've heard their whole catalog, does it destroy your desire to see them again? There's no more white whales to chase.
I have five MMJ studio tracks left to hear and I still want to see them, even if they don't play those songs.  Plus hopefully another album will be out next year.

Plenty of B sides and rarities I’ve yet to see.

I should go through them and see what I have left. How many times have you seen MMJ?

Wow, that’s a ton! I’m at 13 for MMJ (and 26 for PJ which is my personal best).

I’m a big Mmj fan, seen them 16 times and I’ve been to OBH.  I was not at this years, but my two cents is I wouldn’t have enjoyed them playing all albums sequentially as much as three MMJ shows wherein you didn’t know what song was coming next.  Night 2 had to be amazing with Z and ISM, but night 3 would have been a letdown (though I do enjoy their last 3 albums).  My two cents, though i am sure the people who were there (justifiably) thought it was amazing.  I went to one of the NYE shows in colorado and they’re still in top form.  Hopefully the hiatus isn’t very long.

I would’ve liked to hear all the songs shuffled but I’ll take it. Night 2 was indeed amazing.

Yeah, I went to the three night stand in San Francisco in 2015. Crossed off a bunch of white whales (Where To Begin, Tonite I Want To Celebrate With You). Only one left for me, really, is Strangulation. I've been lucky as far as the shows I've gone to. My very first MMJ show had Butch Cassidy, By My Car, Into The Woods, and Knot Comes Loose. I'll see them whenever they come around again, but like Pearl Jam, I've seen them enough that I am sated as far as what songs I'd like to hear.

New Jim James album announced today. Out 6/29. That probably pushes anything MMJ back a while. They’ve said they have a live album in the can and want to release the rest of the songs from The Waterfall Sessions. I’m guessing they bleed it all out during this hiatus. We have the OBH recordings to look forward to too.

Just preordered the clear vinyl from his site. Limited to 1000 and if you're one of the first 250 to order, you get a free autographed postcard and a sticker. It was $32 after tax/shipping.

    Still no Vancouver :(

When was the last time they played in Vancouver? They haven't played in Toronto for a few years now. Sort of wondered what was up with that?

Last time I saw them up here was at the first Pemberton back in 2008.
Not sure when they actually played Vancouver though.
Yeah, have they ever?? Honestly, I've pretty much forgotten about these guys because without seeing them live the appeal isn't really holding up super well. If they came to Vancouver I'd totally go, and it would likely make me more into them.
You listen to their bootlegs? They're solid.
I haven't listened to entire shows beside Okonokos, which is very good, but I have several one-off live recordings in my digital library. Yes, they're solid and I've listened to a lot of their catalogue, including most of those cool live covers that they tend to be very good at ... but I dunno. I still just don't seem to have that "connection" with the music that I need to go from 'yeah, they're okay' to 'yeah, I love them!' Actually attending a show might do that, who knows. I'd like to find out.

If you're a fan at all...
I'd definitely pick up these boots.

They played ALL of their studio albums in order during the 3 shows..plus COBRA!
