if i remember correctly they sued ticketbastard because they were a monopoly and could control/inflate ticket prices accordingly, because they didn't have any competition
and even to this day their service charge to handle/process tickets is insane.
  • I find it strange that GA is the same as reserved. So at Wrigley I may pay the same price for shitty upper decks with my high number as someone in the front row with GA. Also last week I got 4 tickets for Elton John for $240,  $42.50 before fees per ticket and that's a huge world class tour....

I think the band sets their price, but that only makes up a portion of the ticket price we pay.

The concert and music industry has changed immensely since 1994.  Gone are the days of million dollar record advances and sales.  Bands make their money on touring now, period.  It wasn’t always like that, but now it is.

Spot on assessment! The music "business" is dying if not already dead. A band can sell millions of records and still owe money. Musician's revenue is mostly made on touring and merchandise (i.e. t-shirt sales and posters).
Then play more shows not play 6 and raise the price so drastically. I'm not saying I don't understand what they are doing and have every right to, but this seems like an extreme cash grab. Only stadiums, 7 shows, and nearly 40% more expensive. Just do an Elton John 300 show grand finale and spred it over 5 years and call it quits lol
  • I'm sure there is a price to securing fan club tickets and certainly at the amount that is being spoken about for this tour compared to 2016.

It cost me $600 for two tix to Paul McCartney. Even more for two tickets to see Kevin Durant play basketball for two hours. A lame version of the lion king is $199 per ticket. Get real people.

I hope that is the case. sure they had to literally pay the price to deal with the devil aka TicketBastard.

I feel like 90s PJ fought for lower prices because a lot of fans couldn't afford all the fees and high ticket prices. Now I feel like they have completely disregarded the fact that they still have many young fans that still can't afford these prices (me included.)

I don't know, little bit of a let down to be honest. Means I'm gonna have to pick up an extra shift for the next 10 weeks in order to be able to afford it. I'll do it, but damn...

I agree that comparing the ticket prices to other acts or events is like comparing apples and oranges.  But when PJ charges 30+% more for tix to their own show than they did in 2016, its a big increase.  I fully expected to have to pay more for a pair of Ten Club tix this year than I did in 2016, but I did not expect it to be that much more.  Here's hoping this year's show will be 30% better!

    These threads crack me up....
Fans not admitting that this band is turning into late-era Rolling Stones cracks me up
have you considered that after the bands pays out to everyone involved in putting on these shows out of the $ 247 how much do you think the band takes home ? , i too have been following the band since 94 but i as sure as hell didn't expect for prices to stay the same and it's still the cheapest ticket around compared to any sporting event specially here in the Northeast ....
