We were going to philly and decided to make a pit stop. Unfortunately, I did not get to try alien church because it was kicked (but I’m trading for a four pack over the next few weeks anyway) and they didn’t have any milkshakes. However, I loved hophands, high road, galaxy ipa and about five others. Very happy I made the trip.Jearlpam0925 said:^ Wow. Made it down to Tired Hands in Ardmore? Good for you.
Beers are so good - loooove the Alien Church and/or any of the Milkshake IPAs.
And their food is so good. They've pretty much taken over that town.
Mike it’s middle of nowhere PA (no offense!). One of my must visits and worth the trip. Came home with cans and growlers too.
Offense taken! You were on the Main Line, which is like 5 miles outside of Philly city limits.Post edited by The Juggler onwww.myspace.com0 -
Haha sorry man. I live in queens. If someone was traveling to manhattan and stopped in my neighborhood they’d think this was the middle of nowhere too.The Juggler said:SVRDhand13 said:

also tried Pliny the elder yesterday. Well worth the wait. I feel like it would have really blown my mind had I got a hold of it when I first wanted to years ago. But it was a very balanced beautifully hopped beer. So happy to cross that one off the list.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaautiful Ardmore, Pennsylvania.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -
That's a nice lineup right there! I didn't know they distributed Half Acre to Philly....such a great brewery. I used to live right by it and go there all the time before I became a suburbanite. Daisy Cutter is one of my all time favorites. Love Jai Alai too....always drink some of that whenever I'm down in Florida. I just read that they're coming to Chicago soon which is awesome news.Cliffy6745 said:

So what are your suggestions for breweries I need to hit up while in Chicago? Maybe a top five.Indifference71 said:

Revolution
Lagunitas
Haymarket
Three Floyd's (worth the trip from Chicago to NW Indiana...maybe only 30 minutes from downtown)

You know my answers Mike! Revolution, Pipeworks and Half Acre are top 3 must visits. Goose Island and Lagunitas for 4 and 5 maybe? A not as well known spot in Wicker Park called Piece Brewery...great beer and east coast style pies!mcgruff10 said:

I'd say Revolution, Half Acre, On Tour Brewing, Lagunitas and Great Central Brewing. Great Central is a contract brewing place that brews beer for a few different breweries....they have a pretty nice taproom where you can have a bunch of the beers that they brew there.mcgruff10 said:

Had some draft Hopslam the other night.
$4.75 per real pint!
That is some damn good shite but a seriously big beer.
Glad I had only a 5 minute walk home0 -
Laguintas is from california, no? I"m guessing they opened a brewery in chicago for distribution purposes?I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

Yeah they opened up a huge brewery in Chicago a few years ago. They have a really nice taproom in there and the tour is pretty cool.mcgruff10 said:Laguintas is from california, no? I"m guessing they opened a brewery in chicago for distribution purposes?0 -
Yeah, man. Grabbed a case of Daisy Cutter maybe a month ago. Have been trying to go through it slowly and have done a pretty good job mixing it in with other stuff.Indifference71 said:

Lagunitas is based in Petaluma about an hour north of San Francisco. Great brewery to visit.mcgruff10 said:Laguintas is from california, no? I"m guessing they opened a brewery in chicago for distribution purposes?
It is now 100% owned by Heineken and that's why they opened in Chicago and have much wider distribution then they did a few years ago.0 -
