Put another way, if 26 Republicans had voted the other way, they would have helped Danny and 3D to "win." Why did the republicans buck the wishes of their stable genius, Team Trump Treason?
but we know the GOP are evil doers only interested in enriching themselves and their cronies, the Dems on the other hand are the peoples party, the good guys seeking civil justice for all.
All true.. It's curious why you are a die hard right winger then..

For those that "missed" it, I repeat THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY IS TOO POWERFUL! We need to restrict those powers not expand them! Emperor Trump!

    From the ACLU:
The House voted to give President Trump and his administration more spying powers. The government will use this bill to continue warrantless intrusions into Americans’ private emails, text messages, and other communications.
No president should have this power. Yet, members of Congress just voted to hand it to an administration that has labeled individuals as threats based merely on their religion, nationality, or viewpoints.

I know JC gets shit on a lot here (and often for valid reasons), but this is actually a worthy topic. Anyone who values freedom should be pissed off at those 55 dems, especially dem leadership like Pelosi and Schiff. Thankfully my dem representative didn't vote with those traitors. Anyone who supports warrentless surveillance of Americans is anti-freedom and clearly doesn't value Constitutional protections (like the 4th Amendment). I expect that out of the GOP these days. I was hoping the dems were a little more principled. Fuck all 55 on that list.

I voted for Obama in 2008 but wouldn't consider myself a supporter. Nor is it possible for a die hard male Hilliary campaign donor and campaign volunteer to be left of me, not possible.

That's what both parties hope we believe. That's how the Patriot Act was able to be passed, renewed and expanded. Bush, Obama, Trump administrations, Democrat and Republican controlled congresses all want expanded powers of surveillance over us, using Al Queda, ISIS, Muslims or whatever other boogymen they can conjure as the excuse.

    ACLU OPPOSES NEW SURVEILLANCE BILL

“We strongly oppose this legislation,” said Neema Singh Guliani, ACLU legislative counsel. “This bill is not reform by any stretch of the imagination. It leaves the door wide open to abusive surveillance practices that allow the government to search the intimate emails, text messages, and other sensitive data of Americans without a warrant of any kind. This could easily permit Section 702 to be used as a tool to improperly target minorities, government critics, and marginalized communities.”

She continued, “Congress should abandon efforts to pass this legislation and reject the false assertion that this type of illegal surveillance power is needed to protect national security. Instead, they should require the government to get a warrant when searching through Section 702 data looking for information of American citizens and residents.”

The bill gives the FBI and other federal agencies wide latitude to search through Section 702 data looking for information about Americans without a warrant, even before an active investigation has been opened. In addition, the bill’s language risks being read as a codification and expansion of certain illegal government practices such as collecting communications that are not to or from a surveillance target, including domestic communications.

But why is it that everyone harps on the Dems for this type of shit? Because you know, if the Dems vote against any "terrorism" related bill, they'll be painted as soft on terrorism. And republicans are always harping on being the party of individual freedoms and getting government off your back, unless its terrorism, abortion and pot smoking. Where's the twitterage listing all of the repubes who voted for the bill? Where's the Twitterager at Team Trump Treason, the same Team Trump Treason who blames it for him being surveilled? Where's 3D and his scathing D'ing of repubes?

I have plenty of outrage for Republicans, and express that often. I think the outrage at the Dems here is because it is expected that Republicans will go for this sort of thing. They were the original instigators of the power grab with the Patriot Act. I expect the opposition party to work in opposition, especially for something so fundamental. So that is why my outrage at those 55 Dems today. It should not be taboo to call out anyone behaving badly, regardless of party.

Here's the vote according to the House clerk. It looks like it was actually 65 Dems and 191 Republicans voting yes if I'm reading it right. Thankfully, my Dem representative voted no.

It’s always been supported by a certain number of Dems.

I know but it’s always been overwhelmingly supported by way more repubes and yet they never bear any responsibility nor get called out for it. Where’s Randy Paul damning his colleagues? Will Randy Paul implore Team Trump Treason to veto the bill, in all his feigned libertarian righteousness?

A former U.S. intelligence contractor tells Circa he walked away with more than 600 million classified documents on 47 hard drives from the National Security Agency and the CIA, a haul potentially larger than Edward Snowden's now infamous breach.

And now he is suing former FBI Director James Comey and other government figures, alleging the bureau has covered up evidence he provided them showing widespread spying on Americans that violated civil liberties.

3D, D’ing. Must be some forthcoming announcements regarding Team Mueller’s investigation of Team Trump Treason. Seeing how Team Trump Treason’s “fake news awards” presentation is scheduled for Wednesday night and his Treasonous SOTU is coming up, timing is about right.
