    Loved it!!!!
Some awesome fight & battle scenes.
Some genuinely funny moments as well.
Thought there may have been a few more lingering questions answered is my only (very minor gripe)
Will definitely be seeing it at the cinemas again...

saw it last night.  I thought it was good but not great.  It was about 20 min longer than it needed to be.

Well, fuck, man. So far, the consensus from this group is meh.

If it's really worse than Rogue One, I might give my tickets away and get a nice dinner instead. I can't imagine anything being worse than Rogue One.

For the record, there has only been exactly one bad Star Trek film (although I have yet to see the last one, which seemed like it might make that number two).

MIght as well start looking for takers for your tickets.  Rogue One was far superior to this film......

That makes me a little sad. I had been looking forward to it for a while now.

There are amazing parts, and its a Star Wars film so it's really not THAT bad.  Luke Skywalker is and will always be awesome.  It's a strange ride.  Some points I said to myself, this is the dumbest movie I've ever watched and at other times I said to myself, this is the best Star Wars scene ever!  Go figure.

Episodes I, II, VI and Rogue One were all pretty horrible. And I'm being lenient with Episode III. I must be in a charitable mood or something.

I think there is initial hype and excitement of a new installment.  But overall, in the grand scheme of the series, IMO this one will fall toward the bottom of the barrel for rewatchability and its kind of forgettable..  IMO it was a regression from TFA and Rogue One.

I'm struggling with this one. There was a lot I liked. Adam Driver's performance as Kylo blew me away. The fight scene in Snoke's throne room was awesome. I really like the dynamic between Kylo and Rey and am excited to see where it goes. Chewbacca busting through Luke's door and (IMO) basically telling him to stop acting like a little bitch was great. Yoda looked a little weird at first but I enjoyed seeing the character and hearing Frank Oz. I'm glad we got one last Luke Skywalker as hero moment, even though his "death" was a little strange given how he had just "survived" the battle that he actually wasn't even really in. It's probably a fitting end to the character and he was true to his word. He went to that island to die. It was just jarring to lose him and to know we've actually already lost Carrie Fisher too.

There is a lot that I didn't like and I worry that on repeat viewings I will like parts of the film even less. The opening space fight was great - even though Poe's humor at first felt like a reach - and I enjoyed the Battlestar Galactica-esque tracking through light speed bit. But the long, slow speed chase that followed really bothered me. Snoke's kickass ship couldn't catch up to or shoot down a handful of slow moving rebel ships? It was like OJ in the white Bronco only in space. That felt so forced and was a HUGE plot element in the film. I liked Fin and Rose, but there entire mission to the casino just felt shoehorned in.

So...Rey's parents don't matter and neither does Snoke's origin? C'mon.

When the two tie fighters fired on the bridge and Leia was sucked out into space I was SHOCKED. Bolted upright in my seat. I very much thought she might die in this one, but not that early and not like that. Then...weirdness. To go from seeing her only feel the force a few times to flying through space like a superhero was a WTF moment.

There's more obviously but these are the moments that stood out. I'm sure I'll see it again in theaters but probably not until after Christmas. Overall I guess I am disappointed even though there were parts of the film I enjoyed very much.

The story was such a cluster-f*ck of nonsense, there were inane cameos and completely incoherent plot devices.  It was a cinematic train-wreck.  I actually wondered if I had eaten something hallucinogenic accidentally or had had an elaborate dream.

I agree with most of your points.  I loved seeing Luke Skywalker again, and his grumpy old man self.  The scene with Leia flying through space was absolutely the dumbest Star Wars moment ever.  It made Jar Jar Binks seem not so bad.  Seriously, my son and I looked at eachother and just bust out laughing.  So dumb!

One more thing. Maybe this is just a nerd overthinking things but I don't think it is. In The Force Awakens, after Starkiller Base is destroyed, Poe finds the Millennium Falcon as it escapes the explosion and he along with the remaining X-Wings escort the ship back to the rebel base. But in The Last Jedi, Poe and Rey introduce themselves like they have never met. So at no time after the battle and before Rey departed with Chewie to find Luke did these two introduce themselves? They never crossed paths? They never congratulated one another on the victory? They were never commended by Leia as heroes of the battle? That doesn't make sense. Of course they would have met. Instead we get this awkward introduction between the two that feels more than a little like it's foreshadowing a romance. That annoyed me.

    It’s crazy
    imdb has it 86/100 crititcs
    8.1/10 from the fans

but click on the actual fan reviews and they are all 1’s to 3’s with a few 6’s mixed in

then listening to you guys.... sounds like Disney bought some Critics

im going tomorrow in IMAX.... I didn’t have high expectations to begin with, at least my vape pen will make it watchable, I hope

hopefuly JJ can save the final installment
