I really hated the Mary Poppins In Space scene. Apart from the fact that it made zero sense for Leia to suddenly have these powers out of nowhere, it felt like they missed a perfect chance to write her out of the script. No disrespect to Carrie Fisher, but was there any need for her to be in the film at all after that point? Plus, it would have solved the obvious problem of how to deal with Leia in Episode 9
She has been in touch with the Force for more than 30 years, you don't think she toyed with some light telekinesis in that time? She clearly didn't shut herself off from the Force, there are scenes which show she is still in touch. It literally makes more sense than saying the powers are sudden and from nowhere.
She has been in touch with the Force, and she has 'felt' things, but we've never actually seen her use it. If she had toyed with it, why not show it in a previous scene? If not in TFA, then at least an earlier scene in TLJ. I think it's fair to feel that it's a bit of a stretch to just spring this ability on us.
I disagree, we can't have a scene of exposition for every such possibility. In TFA she is shown to still be very connected to the Force, and light telekinesis is known to be a Padawan level skill.
Is flying through space like a superhero really just "light telekinesis"? I get the idea that she simply latched onto the ship the way Luke latched onto his lightsaber in Empire. Still, he didn't fly through space like that. We've never seen anyone fly through space like that in a Star Wars movie. Maybe in one of the cartoons that I've never seen, perhaps.
Zero G (mostly) vacuum, shouldn't take but a nice sharp tug comparable to Padawan skills. Jedi jump 20-30 feet in gravity, that's a far greater feat.
Assuming neither the explosion nor the vacuum didn't kill her instantly. Assuming she was somehow conscious in space to use these Padawan level skills. All of this makes it much harder than a trained Jedi jumping through gravity.
I don’t care what her force abilities are or how powerful she is. That scene was just plain dumb.

Eh. Meh. LOL
Suspension of disbelief is pretty strong already in the Star Wars Universe, this isn't a stretch for me.
I just got back from seeing it the second time. I enjoyed it more this time.
Did you have to fight the urge to laugh out loud during the Princess' Space Crawl? I liked the first and think I will like more on the 2nd viewing as well.
Not a single thing about this film bothered me. I enjoyed the hell out of every scene. Twice! (So far.)
It's Star Wars, for crying out loud.
If some of the stuff y'all are harping on would have happened in Star Trek, I'd be on blast, but this is a big dumb space opera with intergalactic wizards and laser swords. It's neato!

Impressed it took this long for you to finally drop the Star Wars stinks when compared to Star Trek gauntlet.
Personally, I side with Wars over Trek....but I do love them both.

After watching TLJ at home on Blu-ray, nice and baked... Still loved it, but some of the criticisms were more apt than I have credit at first. Snoke backstory. They can still have some but it can't have the same potency in a retrospective position as it would have if it built the same way the Luke/Ben reveal did. Leia floating wasn't as bad for me and I think it wasn't as hokey as people said, but the casino arc was a dud. The things that he dropped from JJ's setup were dropped balls for sure, but the things he focused on, he nailed. The overarching themes were presented very effectively...letting expectations from the past go, both within the STU and in the real world...the Lone Ranger hotshot's time ending...the intense connections between Kylo and Rey and both of them to the Force...all really well done. Those Kylo/Rey scenes are the very best in the film history of Star Wars. Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley are fantastic actors and they really just nailed it. They are so fantastic though that they make Finn and Poe...and half the others, look like amateurs. Rey's parents being nobody's was the only outcome that isn't corny as hell, so I think he nailed that. Snoke though... WTF???

Truth be told I bought it on Amazon shortly after released....and haven't watched it yet. I really liked it the first time and am waiting a bit longer. Odd. Figured I would want to watch right away but I didn't press play yet.
I've only watched TLJ once since purchasing it on blu ray. Have not had a chance. Was going to tonight but I am so tired I don't even want to watch a movie.

I'll see Solo eventually but I'm not buying advance tickets and I have no plans to be there opening weekend.
I tried to revisit The Last Jedi a few weeks ago but didn't make it very far. There are a few great scenes but overall I just don't enjoy that film. All these months later I'm still a little surprised at how disappointed I was by Episode VIII.
Quite a difference in excitement level from last year to this year.
