As long as the guy only got one why do we care when he sells it?
Hey man, I get it.....the poster is his possession and it can be sold and traded by the owner at any time.
I have bought, sold, and traded tons of posters. Some obviously appreciate in price, just a fact.....some appreciate in value almost instantly. (this poster, not so much)
Insta-flips just aren't very well received by people, ya know?

What OP is doing is crap. There are tons of people who would love these posters to be framed and hung, yet this guy buys with the sole intent to flip it. On this damn site of all places.
Edit to add, I do not want this poster, or the other poster he is selling, but if you look in the Eddie Vedder Merchandise thread there are lots of people who wanted posters and could not get them. And if OP sells them, great, someone got the poster who might not have and OP made two or three times his money, but to buy those posters and sell them so quickly is nothing more than flipping. At least freaking wait til the ink dries on the damn things.
He bought one poster. Who cares if he chooses to sell it? As long as he isn't buying multiples of one poster to sell it's fine with me.
There are plenty of people on these boards who buy multiples of posters, stickers, and other merch to immediately flip for other merch. Look at the sticker trading threads. People are posting photos of their trades with multiples of each sticker. Same with the posters. People are trying to trade their extra Mumford London poster for a Bourboun and beyond poster and vice versa. No one bats an eye when that happens
Iust wondering why the only people who get vilified around here are the ones who sell something?

I don't necessarily like when that occurs, but at least if they are trading piece for piece it feels a bit better that they are trying to keep things at cost to everyone versus trying to flip and profit because they can click through a website faster than others.

I agree it sounds better to trade rather than sell. But you have people here buying ten stickers at a clip to trade with people from other shows who also bought ten stickers and it leaves a lot of fans in line scratching their head wondering how stuff sold out so fast. And those people are forced to go to eBay and pay a premium if they want a sticker.

I can’t speak to stickers cause I do not necessarily collect them, but I can tell you OP has waited in no line to get the two posters he is selling. And he is not trading a poster for a poster (Mumfords) he is selling for 2-3 times what he paid for it. Big difference to me.

That's pretty much my point. People are calling him out for selling a poster immediately for 2-3 times purchase price. How is that worse than buying two Mumfords and immediately trading one for the other Mumford which is valued at 2-3 times what you paid?
My feeling is buy one of an item and do with it what you want... frame it, sell it, or burn it. As long as your not buying multiples to sell or trade to pad your collection it's cool with me.

This is a product that ofor inflated prices in a limited market. I happen to know the OP in his defense is trying to raise funds to purchase posters he's looking for in which prices have gotten totally out of hand. Every poster jumps immediately after release and it's in every collectors interest to buy for its value and use that value to get what you are searching for. Nowadays the biggest grails when they come up only come up for sale so this has become a necessary evil for collectors get their grails. The only way to solve this is if Pearl Jam would do Vault poster releases. The orginals would still retain value as originals but would allow other collectors access to the same prints.

There are plenty of other ways, but only for show editions. I hate the thought of originals and ‘vault’ editions. Sounds like a pain in the ass as a collector to have to discern that in the aftermarket.
OP has the AE. There will never be a fix to AE’s run size and it’s the game you have to play (and I like it that way personally). Knowing there are only 100 with the artists signature floating around is awesome.

I’m obviously against “instant” flipping. If he listed this three weeks from now i’m sure he’d be better received. As weird as that is.
It’s a funny hobby. Hell yeah i’ve bought things to use as trade bait before. That’s part of the game to trade up. There’s just those certain moral rules you should try to follow to be a decent contributor to the PJ community.
I’m usually against people derailing people’s sale threads, whether by price comments, or opinions. I can understand the outrage here. Ebay is the better route here for the OP
Wow, just getting caught up on this. Sorry if I offended anyone, but as someone explained above, I have a few very expensive grails I'm trying to acquire and this was an attempt to help out a fan who didn't score on the drop, while also helping myself build my "grail fund". Yes, it is more than what I paid, but I doubt any of you would sell the print for what you paid. I am certainly not trying to rip anyone off and preferred this route rather than eBay. I was also unaware of an accepted period of time for which I can sell this print.
So again, wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers, simply trying to move all the prints from shows I haven't been to, in order to attain the ones I don't have for shows I went to, namely NY/NJ 98 and Philly 00. I'd prefer to trade the poster, but found with the Ohana that this is really tough to do. I'm happy to remove this if I need to, and also happy to chat with anyone interested in acquiring.
Let's say 10 Club cleared the vault and threw these up for sale. You were unlucky and couldn't get one, how would you feel if immediately after someone threw one on here for 3x purchase price? Or in this case, 3x value of posters. I cannot imagine you would be too happy.
And for the record, I hope you do sell it and make everything you need to buy your posters, my whole issue is why try to sell it here this quick after buying it?

Thanks for the well wishes and for your obvious passion about the subject. I knew I wouldn't frame it and have a couple leads on grails, which is why I was trying to sell so quickly after receiving. Like someone else mentioned earlier, if there is an allowed time that can pass before selling a print, I'm happy to oblige.
And my selling the print at all is a direct result of the market and what I now have to do in order to purchase my ISO. In many of these cases I am having to spend 10X what they were sold for. Just because the prints I purchased and subsequently sold are newer, doesn't change the fact that the whole market is overpriced. I wish I started trying to get the prints I want years ago.
People buy stuff all the time for trade bait to get other stuff they want. There will always be people who feel slighted by this concept. Not many people ever sell anything for face value (some do sell reasonably), unless it’s a concert ticket and that’s a requirement by the tenclub rules. Do what you want with YOUR poster. There are only 100 of these signed by the artist. Doubt they will go down in value. Someone will buy it. All this merchandise is so hyped up it’s ridiculous. Would be nice to trade a $35 poster for another $35 poster, but that’s not reality. See if you can trade this print for a Donkey Kong print and you’ll get laughed at...
There’s really no allowed time. It just “looks better” id say. Its your stuff man. People here are obviously flipper-aware because we see folks paying homeless guys to stand in line and buy posters. I hope you get the grail your after. I’ve definitely bought posters before just to have trade bait.
Multiple have sold on Facebook, and multiple have been posted for attempted raffles, so you have nothing to be sorry about. You posted a price per forum rules. If no one is interested in that price, you may have to reevaluate the price. But that happens in here all the time. Good luck with the sale, and good luck with acquiring your grail.
