Buyer's remorse is settling in. He'll keep his 35% but he's untenable for members of the house and senate except in the most gerrymandered districts and deepest red of red states. I can only imagine what folks like Pence, Sessions and Tillerson are saying privately to their networks.

Follow the money, from Russia with love and a PTAPE, all the way to impeachment. Jared, dear boy, is there peace in the Middle East yet? Not yet, dear boy? Offer some, hush, money and see what you can get Putin to do. Now bring me my robe, it's nap time, dear boy.
they will still vote for him, because they will demonize any democratic opponent as worse than hillary.

I'm watching a Fox News interview between VP Pence and Tucker Carlson and Tucker seems to be the 'smart' one in the discussion.
    Man, America is in trouble.
    Good luck friends.

I'm kind of enjoying being in California, since Jerry Brown has made it clear that this state is going to use its size to do whatever it wants, thankyouverymuch. But I'm balking at traveling abroad, feeling as if I need business cards that say, "I swear, I didn't vote for him!"

And, yeah, Pence.... The only reason he is "better" than Agent Orange is that he is not likely to start a war in the middle of the night because of a rude tweet.

In case you're wondering, the T-word is the new c-word, for me. I don't use it. Ever.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

I don't think there are any left on here who aren't just trolling. Might need to go over to Kid Rock or Nugents forums.

Honestly, it's just another conservative stance he completely screwed up. They were looking to stop some costs for gender confirmation procedures, but a complete ban wasn't what they wanted. He's just a dolt with no human understanding or compassion.

And on top of that, I ran across this old beauty of a video. Forgot about this because there's always so much focus on Ivanka.

About the same as most Democrats felt about Clinton's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy, his Defence of Marriage Act, or Obama's same policy on transgendered in the military until he altered it just one year ago.

Whether you agree or not with the policy, it's impossible to agree with the roll out strategy.  Trump has a habit of sabotaging his own policies with his impulsiveness and vulgarian tendencies.  Mattis was on fucking vacation for God's sake.

none if this is relevant to the conversation. these things happened in the 1990s. you can evolve and change your views on issues. those that don't evolve with the emergence of new facts and new information are actually the stupid ones.

when all else fails, bring up hillary or bill clinton.

That's like saying everyone supported segregation because nothing changed for decades. As was mentioned, the goal is forward thinking and progress, not backward idiocy based on a minor hit to insurance costs. Do you really believe that's what this is about? For a guy who drools over any woman with an enhancement surgery, he seems to have an issue when it doesn't fit his ideal.

And in exactly what way did Obama have a similar stance, not that it even matters because he pushed the policy forward to allow them. Never had to even broach it or work towards it, but he did and he sure as hell didn't send his directive out via tweet.

Do you think your employer's CEO\President should notify everyone of policy changes via social media? Or is that just cutting edge?

Well...like Trump I was for same-sex marriage before supporting same-sex marriage was cool. And gays in the military? Who cares...there have always been gays in the military since the beginning of time. I have always been ok with them serving and serving openly if they choose. Now I know that Obama just came around to these Trumpian positions late, the marriage one came specifically after a push from Biden in 2012, but his support is welcome all the same. The question of transgendered serving though is definitely one where Obama might be ahead of me on. At the moment I am agnostic and can understand the arguments for and against. The military environment is one of life and death and for that reason the military discriminates all the time in choosing who may or may not serve. If a certain medical condition can hinder a unit then the military will rightly declare one unfit to serve as soldiers lives are at risk. Now sexuality is 100% not a "condition" and therefore gay people should be able to serve openly. Gender identity however is something else altogether that I am not yet sure if or how it should be categorized. I am completely open to the idea that it may not matter one bit and therefore who cares but I'm also open to the possibility that it could be problematic. Science has shown that a higher percentage of transgendered and associated identity issues show higher degrees of depression and related psychological issues compared to the regular population. Knowing that the battlefield is an extremely Un accommodating and difficult environment is it conceivable that those psychological issues - if they exist at all - could have impacts of life or death? Again...I am not sure. The military seems to argue that allowing transgendered to serve could have a detrimental impact but they used to say the same thing about the LGB groups as well too and I certainly didn't believe that. So where do I stand? I am not sure. I think I am ok with the reversal in a policy that is only one year old on a short term basis. Long term though I think a gradual transition would be the smarter play. Allow trans to serve in less lethal situations to start...get buy in from fellow service members as they prove identity issues are not a hinderance. I believe they can prove this. I believe many already have. The key is to demonstrate that current science with respect to psychological issues is not only wrong but may in fact be caused by acceptance. In the end it is quite possible that with increased acceptance those psychological risk issues normalize with the cisgendered population. That's what I tend to believe but when it's the life and death world of the military it is important to prove it as unfair as it may seem.
