Before Waco and  before Ruby Ridge there was the state sanctioned bombing of the MOVE headquarters in Philadelphia in which 11 people died. I wonder why you paranoid extreme gun rights advocates and libertarians never cite it when deploring government malfeasance and oppression?
read up on the MOVE story instead of just putting a misleading headline out there.  There was way more to the story than just a state sanction bombing. they were as culpable in the incident as the police.
You mean like David Koresh and the Weavers?

It's nuts. The NRA is clearly escalating fear to push policy, sell more guns and the easily duped eat it up.

    The are hurting you're country.
Any question that the NRA had transformed from a civil rights organization into a full on far right white nationalist group evaporated in the deafening silence of their nonresponse to the Philando Castile verdict.
It has been pretty clear from the start, but yeah, their silence on that case has been deafening.
I don't think it was clear from the start, but I 100% agree that the NRA has become a far right, white nationalist group. Their Phlando Castile non-reaction was heard loud and clear. The NRA used to be a hunting and shooting sports advocacy group, but what they were bears no resemblance to what they are now. I was an NRA member back in the 80's, but bailed on them a couple of decades ago. They are strictly a political lobbying group, and these days exist to pump money into far right candidates and causes. It is beyond me how a 2nd Amendment group could not be outraged and furious about the police shooting a law abiding, legally gun carrying citizen who was licensed to carry, informed the officer he was carrying, and complied with the officer's commands.  There is no doubt in my mind that if Philando Castile was a white guy the NRA would have made some noise, and offered support to the guy's family. Instead we get crickets.

There have been a lot of members that have spoken with their $ about this and verbally condemned the lack of response.  Castile did not deserve to get shot and no justice was serviced by the legal system in that incident.  The NRA truly need to get some new PR people in there. They are truly only good at lobbying these days.  There are plenty of lesser known gun rights organizations out there that handle their shit better than the NRA.  Regardless, I still think it's funny how many people were "triggered" by the mostly non-substantial video above.

And they were never a "civil rights organization."  The 2nd Amendment was the best thing that ever happened to them, but they are a trade association.  They try to sell guns.

But yeah, now they are a full-blown White Nationalist group.

Regardless, I still think it's funny how many people were "triggered" by the mostly non-substantial video above.
    triggered, what a stupid phrase.

It is actually a pretty legitimate psychological term.  Sorry that the term "triggered" triggers your anger.

It may be a legitimate term, but that doesn't mean you're using it correctly.
I don't think I use it out of context when describing "triggered" emotional responses from non-substantial videos.  Similarly, my eye rolls are triggered by the triggered emotional responses.
"Triggered" does not equate to "people who disagree with me". Yeah, you're using it incorrectly.

The video triggered a response.  The video triggered anger amongst the left...what's so hard to understand?  The leftist response triggered my eye rolling.  All well within the context.
Triggered implies an unreasonable or disproportionate response.  It's been bastardized by the likes of you to mean any sort of response or resistance to the hateful, inciteful rhetoric of the right.  Throwing around terms like 'trigger' is not only insulting to people who have had traumatic experiences resulting in serious psychological conditions; it's a tactic used to chill free speech by dismissing people's legitimate concerns as irrational.  You should be embarrassed and ashamed.

    Disturbing as fuck.
Is everyone still convinced that some kind of civil war or something isn't coming in America? I'm really having trouble imagining where things are going, but I just don't see them getting better anytime soon. I only see them getting much, much, much worse, with the kind of anger and division that is being grown by the currently government and its lobbyists. And btw, I don't see the left being the catalyst of such things. If shit goes down, it will be the growing alt-right that stirs shit up... starting with fucking twitter ads like this one by the NRA, which is obviously an alt-right organization now.

There's a yawning chasm between triggering and provoking someone. If the NRA is dog-whistling for violence based on race & political views, they're toeing the line of hate crime / terroristic threats. No surprise coming from an organization with a symbiotic relationship with terrorists like the oath keepers, michigan militia, 3%s. The Right continues to try to drag the Left down to it's level.

As of late, it seems like the Right have only been responding to Left wing violence.  Is that their excuse now, that they were provoked (triggered) and cannot contain their violent tendencies?

If you provoke someone towards violence, don't be surprised when you get punched in the nose. Everything about this video is intended to tickle your lizard brain, designed to add fuel to the fire, rather than try to de-escalate some imaginary problem.

The right is responding to fear mongering and having their stupidity exploited for political and financial gain. See also: "regulations kill jobs", "healthcare is socialism" & "voter fraud".

I honestly fail to see how this nra video supports white supremacy or even violence.  I thought it was a pretty good ad in terms of trying to recruit more people to join the nra and in the same breath criticizing the left.   Isn't it ironic that some of you  criticize this ad but support kathy gifford's recent attempt at "art"?

I honestly fail to see how this nra video supports white supremacy or even violence.  I thought it was a pretty good ad in terms of trying to recruit more people to join the nra and in the same breath criticizing the left.   Isn't it ironic that some of you  criticize this ad but support kathy gifford's recent attempt at "art"?
That would be ironic, except for the facts that (1) not one person on here supported Gifford's actions (one or two thought it qualified as art, but no one supported the message) and (2) the NRA video isn't art, nor is it even pretending to be. It's a propaganda piece with a message of hate against large groups of people. So it's difficult to see your comparison, really.

Yes people on these boards (some in this same discussion) called kathy gifford's bloody donald trump's head "art".  Even though to me it supported a hell of a lot of violence. The nra made an ad that bashed the left (some of it is actually true), what surprises you about that?

Where is the hate against large groups of people in the ad?
People can think something is art and still not be in support of it, just like I can agree that the US army has lots of bombs and not be in favour of how they are used. I'm not sure why the distinction is difficult to understand.

Is anything not associated with white supremacy these days?  What a clown.
