But this is 2017 and the government has drones.  You don't take a knife to a gun fight and expect to win.  I'd say the same follows for bringing guns to a drone fight.

Yes it is. It helps if you press Return to get out of the original post first. But don't backspace, or you'll get back in the post and you can't get out.

    Backspacer - it's a bitch.

Guns and denial go hand in hand: 'if someone wants to kill someone, they're going to find a way no matter what'. 'Guns make us safer' etc.

Guns make me safer from hunger.  Still chowing down on the deer that a gun helped me harvest last winter :)

tab key to advance it to next line. seems quote function has cursor in the next space available of the quote. you need to advance cursor out of quote before typing your response.

I disagree with the "if someone wants to kill someone, they're going to find a way no matter what". Yes, some people do use it as a denial, but I consider it more a statement of fact. People that want to hurt/kill others, will use whatever means necessary, i.e. gun, car, bomb, knife, etc. I do agree though that the "guns make us safer" comment as a denial though. They don't.

Stabbing or beating someone to death is much more personal and takes much more coldness than shooting someone. I'd be willing to bet that if you eliminated guns, you'd see the murder and suicide rates drop precipitously. Guns make both much too easy. Not that I'm advocating for the elimination of guns, mind you.

The truth on the first statement looks more like "people can be aggressive and impulsive, and if they have access to a gun, they're more likely to kill or injure someone". Even planned attacks where it's hard to get firearms have fewer deaths.

There's no question that it's easier to kill large numbers of people with firearms than with pretty much any other weapon that is available to the general public. You might really want to kill someone, or many someones, but realistically your chances of carrying it out successfully are far lower without guns.

No one is gonna take your hunting rifle, don't worry. But there is this thing called the supermarket that doesn't require a gun to keep you safe from hunger.

Totally agree with all those statements. And I guess you could classify that statement as more defensive, than denial. It kind of holds truths on both sides of the argument. But like you said Halifax, guns are the easiest choice
