I guess she'll be considered E or F list now that she lost her annual one day gig? or does notoriety put you UP the scale in hollywood?

she was a trainwreck on CNN's new year's thing last year. i saw some footage, she was obviously loaded and completely unprofessional.
    Darwinspeed, all.

    Cheers,

This is so wrong. It's awful. Trump's tweet is pretty awful as well if he mentions his son being upset just to get attention and his son has never seen it (that's my thoughts, so it certainly might not be true). Everyone should be losing their shit over this. I'm not into the the whole "fire that person" etc crap that many seem to jump on whenever someone makes a mistake. But in this case, I do think she should be more accountable then just say "sorry". It's a legit threat against a sitting president. If other people's comments matter and they should be accountable for the idiots that mimic them or take it to the next level (and they should)....then she certainly should be held accountable as well. No - the motivation does matter some...so in my opinion a picture of a hanging Obama is still worse than this.
I don't care if she got fired from something or not... I'm just curious as to how you think it was a "legit threat against a sitting president". I don't see that at all. It was inappropriate, but not anything close to a threat, let alone a legit one.

I personally see any of these types of activities against a president as a legit threat.  What that means to me is a threat that should garner law enforcement activity/investigation.

It's not just about what she did herself, it's about the message she sends to those that agree with her.  Just like trumps rhetoric has lead crazy people talk shit to hispanics, etc.

That isn't what you call a threat. If it is, then Trump's rhetoric also has to be considered a legit threat against millions of people. I mean hey, I wouldn't complain if he were arrested for it, hahaha, but still. What Griffin did isn't even illegal. It's undeniably protected speech. Meanwhile, legit threats against the president are classified as felonies.

You don;t get arrested for a threat, you investigate one ;)

Anyhow, it's awful.  Her apology doesn't matter to me.  And I'd love to see trump out of office, but this is just sick.

You can be arrested for making a legit threat... Not sure what you meant there I guess, lol.

Meh. It's just art. Nobody ever said we had to like art, or that art shouldn't be offensive. I don't give a shit that she did this one way or the other TBH, since I don't believe that her doing this increases the risk to the POTUS's safety. She's always irritated me, and she doesn't irritate me any more or any less today than she did yesterday. If she'd done this with Bernie Sanders's head, or Clinton's head if she'd won, I'd feel the same way. Pretty much indifferent. Now, the Obama effigies I felt more strongly about, because of the very obvious racist overtones those had. Different animal IMO.

In no way did I think an apology was enough. I knew it wouldn't end there and she'll be going through a lot because she made a very bad choice. One quote from the article by her made it obvious that she knew it was going to cause a huge uproar but she did it anyway. I think it's important to listen to our inner monologues and if you know it's going to upset people, why the hell do it? Something wrong there but at least she did apologize. That's an important thing in life too. Good to see you, Cincy.

    It's art.
From my perspective, like music, there is no such thing as bad art.

Normally I would agree with that, but I'm not convinced they conceptualized it as art. To me, it seems more akin to Howard Stern shock jock type behaviour than a genuine attempt to create subversive or provocative art.

Is someone claiming it as such? Does the creator have any artist's credentials? Looks like a Halloween display or more likely an opposing team of UCLA's tailgate or game day Saturday display. I wouldn't call it art, no. But someone else might.

Much as I hate to admit it, I would say yes.  Do I like it?  No.  Is it useful for telling me where this person's head is at?  Absolutely!  It reveals much.  Just like it is more wise to read works like Mein Kampf to learn and be warned rather than for instruction, this kind of low grade art can be viewed as a way of revealing a persons inner nature, whatever it may be.

i don't think you can just call anything art so you can hide behind that veil. that's cheap. it wasn't art. it was shock value in print.
Another image, if for no other reason than to keep things going here:

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

I don't either. But I think that photo we're discussing is quite clearly art. Professional photography shoot, a clear interpretive message that was deliberate, etc. It was definitely about shock value, but it was also art. Shock value in print is almost always also art IMO.

This isn't/wasn't  a "threat" folks...give it a rest.  It was a stupid stunt.  It started as a joke related to the "had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever" remarks that President dipshit made.

and....honestly I don't think anyone in his family would be too upset if he disappeared.  His wife doesn't even want to hold his tiny hand.

I think this shows what we really are dealing with.  It illustrates the vile ugly sleazebag creeps that are out there.

    #resist, right?

Ugh, poor form Kathy. I feel for Trump's kid if he saw that.
Supposedly he did, and was traumatized.  The left sure likes to harass this ten year old.

Yep, the entire "left". Every single one of us.

Classic unsung; activates the bomb and then gets the hell out of town before it blows up.

Kathy Griffin is disgusting. This was disgusting. No one on the credible left is applauding this. I've already wasted enough energy on this.

The classic unsung that has to work to support this pathetic State.  After yesterday I have had enough.
