Holy shit this is cool- awesome it has tablature for every song too for losers like myself who can't read music. On the fence and I'm sure I'll pull the trigger but dude I seriously have been spending waaaaaay too much on Pearl Jam stuff recently. The guilt is strong in me after the mystery box already, the mccready book, the singles reissue, the rsd single.... did I mention I'm a 36 year old man behaving like I'm still 17?!? At least I have all of you here who support me in these reckless purchases.
A 17 year old wouldn't be able to behave like that.

Lol, so true! Thanks for the support :( And with the possibility of the last three reissues coming along, I know I'm going to buy those too even though I have all the originals already. There's another $100 bucks after shipping.
As a non-musician, do most or all of the musician fans out there use this more as a learning tool or more as a reference point while they learn by hearing the notes?
Well tablature tells you where to put your fingers so its as direct of a learning tool as it gets.
The other things that go into playing along will take practice and an actual ear. This is a great encyclopedia for anyone. So cool

For me I'll use it as a reference guide. There was an awesome site called giventowail for years that had a lot of the earlier stuff but this is way more complete and it's in both tab and sheet music and obviously official so it will probably be much more complicated musically. They use alternate tunings a lot and with several guitars overlapped it will be super complicated, at least for me as a not very accomplished guitarist

I use tabs as a reference point to get the framework of a song for chord shapes and such. But I try to play along with the song and play by ear.
It was actually me moving away from using tabs that I saw major improvements in my playing. Made me more versatile and work in different styles.
