Where'd you guys drink? Hart's pub? or the classy Jackson's on George? hehe
We drank at The Criterion on the cnr of Pitt and Market St.
If it wasn't for the concert and Brendan's study, I reckon we would've been there most of the night0 -

Yeah i've got the avo shirt on
No really old songs. The oldest was Pick You Up. They also played Waiting For The Sun, and a few other ones which I can't really remember at this present time. I wish the discussion board was up and running so I could check :( The new songs sound excellent live.0 -

On My Mind was the only one I left out......not bad for the state I was in
Get ready to be blown away Glenn cos these guys are on fire!! The energy was flowing last night and so was the humour (Bernie couldn't help but have a dig at us about Origin 1)
Just read this. Could be quite interesting if it happens:
"RUMOURS have swirled this year that Powderfinger and Silverchair will combine for a joint tour in September.
The tour is also tipped to be in a circus tent-style contraption, meaning the band can bypass the usual venues.
News leaked after both bands became joint directors of a company - Powderchair - earlier this year.
Bernard Fanning is still coy about the pairing.
"Are there rumours? Wow! That's a good rumour. Is there any truth to it? You better ask our managers ... we've been talking about trying to do something together but we haven't organised it yet. I suppose it's a possibility, it's just not together yet."
So if the hypothetical tour takes place, who'd headline?
"The Beatles. They'd headline. That'd be a hypothetical tour. I don't know mate."0 -

my mate broke that story(from Mx April 13th):

Also it's Patrick's fault that they had to change Black Tears, he reported it before powderfinger and their management had even heard there was any objection to it.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -

Seems quite funny cos I couldn't imagine Bernie and Daniel getting along.
Daniel is quite eccentric. Maybe you could say, a little weird.
I've always dreamt of Powderfinger & Pearl Jam doing a 'joint tour' type thing over here but it'd be highly unlikely seeing that a member of Powderfinger (I think it was Darren) had a whinge to the press about Eddie's decision to shun the limelight during the 90's. He went on to say that it was Eddie's right to be in the public eye because it was the public who were responsible for his success.0 -

Yeah but it does make sense, they are the 2 biggest acts in australia and splitting the costs of a tour makes sense, they could easily do 3 or 4 shows in each capital city for half the cost ect.Oz Jammer wrote:I've always dreamt of Powderfinger & Pearl Jam doing a 'joint tour' type thing over here but it'd be highly unlikely.
they do have neil young in common. i do recall at least one of the members having a liking for PJ back in the day, maybe ian, can't remember. i might suss that out next time i see one of them i've never really thought to ask. Powderfinger started out as a grunge band so they were into that scene at some point.

Parables has a 'grunge' feeling to it. I suppose most bands around in the early to mid 90's had a common liking of the 'Seattle scene'. It was too hard to escape0
