I've been watching a shit ton of videos on this. I'm totally going that route. I think I'm going to do a little more research before I dive into it, though, as I would like to add a hotkey shutdown protocol and an on switch to the RPI.MayDay10 said:Retropie is fucking amazing

Setting it up with the basics was simple. I threw like 750 ROMs on there for NES, Gameboy, Sega, SNES, TurboGrafx16, and Nintendo 64. Booted up a few random titles on NES, Gameboy, and Sega and they worked seamlessly. Old games on the big flat screen.HesCalledDyer said:

The thing seems highly customizable. Lots of techies in on this project. It is amazing.0 -
Did you buy a kit with all the components?MayDay10 said:

Yes. This has everything needed except a usb keyboard and a controller. Apparently ps3 and xbox 360 controllers work. I bought an nes replicaJason P said:

Im not sure about 2 players yet... but i would bet money its possible.
I use windows. Setup was a breeze. Lots of tech support. The video i posted walked me through no problem. Really just a few basic steps.0 -
Get yourself one of these for Pacman. Plugs directly into your TV, plays just like the original Atari arcade game, and is cheap. I had one and loved it, but my ex took it.F Me In The Brain said:

It does on the Wii.F Me In The Brain said:Tecmo Bowl is still easy (just pick pass D every time) but the Bo Factor doesn't exist like it did with the original
I opened the 2 controllers with long cables I ordered when I set up the system the other night. They were the original type cables.
The adapters are on 2-4 week order. Oh well. Until then am fine with a longer HDMI cable and single controller....my nephew and I alternated turns some yesterday. Funny to see a 12 year old on his birthday morning wanting to play Punch Out and Super Mario Brothers. Also....Pac Man is tough with this controller. Need to have the old school joystick to mop up at Pac ManWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
That Metal Gear walkthrough Chris posted on the previous page ...fuck!! I called the Nintendo 1-900 help line to ask how to blow up that giant computer. Was so close but never figured you had to use like 5000000 explosives to get it done. I remember the 'pro' giving me unhelpful information (i.e. use explosives to destroy it).www.cluthelee.com0

Check out this guy's build - a portable arcade stick with the RPI built in. Pretty slick!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYHXUECdQAg

Does the NFLPA license still in effect or do the players just have numbers? Also, do the Colts have Eric Dickerson or Albert Bentley for RB?F Me In The Brain said:Tecmo Bowl is still easy (just pick pass D every time) but the Bo Factor doesn't exist like it did with the original

That is awesome. I am in the process of building my basement, and throughout my years of planning, I always wanted my CPU with a full battery of emulators to hook up to the main TV with classic remotes.... This takes care of all of that x1000... I have also always considered having a CPU hooked up in an arcade-style cabinet down there... which is now entirely possible.
My system is going well. I am having trouble connecting my wifi though. I put up a bat signal in their help-forum. I did connect directly and installed some themes and "scraped" all the games (which downloads metadata such as the game box images, game data, release date, description, etc).
My 3 year old kid was enjoying 1943, Baseball Stars, and Ice Hockey last night.0 -
That settles it, I'm going to have to figure out Retropie, which is going to cost me twice as much because I will probably smash the first one to pieces in frustration and end up doing something similar to this ....F Me In The Brain said:
