Favorite Bands that have Broken-up

We all have bands that we loved that have broken up...

Some due to death, some due to fights, some due to direction or whatever...

Which band would you put back together if you could? And which band do you miss the most?!

Me there are a few, but Uncle Tupelo always comes to mind...lightning in a bottle, and the further you pull away, the greater it gets...

Don't get me wrong Wilco and Son Volt are in my regular rotation, but damn if give anything to see Tupelo...

So what's your dinosaur band, fossilized in your memory?

    Rage here too

They broke up when I was in high school. That and STP in a short period of time killed me.

Of course one could argue that the breakup of Rage lead to a very good Audioslave...

Both are equally excellent in my book.

RATM for sure. The absence of Zach from the music world is a tragedy. I know he is working on stuff, but other than One Day as a Lion, we have barely heard anything from him.
I would love to see Audioslave do something new as well.
    Also agree on CSN&Y
Getting the still with us members of Led Zepp together again for a bigger tour would be epic.

R.E.M. is at the top of my list. Still hurts that I never got to see them! Lucky we have one incredible catalog to enjoy forever.

I've seen countless bands and always loved REM, but never saw them, no idea why...

The Clash...stupid breakup of one of the most innovative Punk bands ever...

The Police...top of the world and egos destroyed it all....

Usually for me a death should end a band (Pink Floyd without Richard Wright being a prime example for me), though Jason Bonham did an excellent job filling in for his father with Zeppelin, so I will echo the above statement asking for an actual tour from them (Plant sounds fine doing Zep songs retuned to his present-day voice, don't get why he nixed a post Celebration Day tour).

So, with all that said, I'd like to vote for The Black Crowes. Miss them, lol.
